The U.S. will advance irregardless of the Sweden game result.

Certainly a step forward from last year.

The makeup of this team, although lessed talented on paper, seems better fit for the bigger ice

Wish Kreider would get some PP time

But hey, his awesome pass that Palmieri nearly flubbed helped change the game into the US's favor

I thought it was clean and awesome but on replay he hit Wheeler in the head with his elbow.

I don't know why the refs called charging though, that was retarded. It was an elbow that deserved to be called but it sure wasn't charging

Smith makes a horrible giveaway and gets rewarded with more ice time, and an eventual goal, but Kreider gets called for a horrible penalty that would never be called, and he gets benched next PP.

Story of this kids career since he's gotten drafted.

Scott Gordon - ex-Islander coach. Think he's going to favor Ranger prospects?

Kreider got very little PP time against Austria, so I doubt it was because of the penalty.

Haha, unlike ridiculous fans, professionals do not let TEAM bias get in the way of their decisions. I sincerely doubt his tenure with the Islanders has anything to do with his choice of who to play and when. Sure some coaches will prefer one player or another due to attitude or style of play, but because of what team drafted them? Hahahaha...

That's an absurd assumption.

Love to have Tollefsen in New York, but that's not going to happen now...is it?

An assist to all three Rangers: Kreider, McDonaugh and Stepan. The assist to McD was cheap, but Kreider and Step are more responsible for those goals than the actual scorers.

Kreider again looked like he was NHL ready. Not just as compared to the Norwegians, but as compared to other Americans.

I want to see him play against Canada, Sweden, Russia. The quality of those squads is as good as NHL teams. If he can hold his own against them, there's no way in hell he should be going back to college.

Even if he can't, he should go play in the AHL. I would say that a team like Norway is as good as most AHL teams, and he did very well against it.

Well Stepan's line plays most of the the power play, but Kreider- Shannon- Palmieri was the second unit. The power play after his penalty it was Gaustad- Shannon- Palmieri.

I love how McDonagh's playing. Great defensively, playing a lot of minutes, and quietly helping in the offense a little. Good stuff.

i think so maybe the rangers want to see how he performs with current NHL players. i think alot of teams will wait after the WC to offer a contract to prospects that are lucky enough to play. i think most teams would want to see them with NHL players to see how they perform.

At the end of the broadcast they said the next USA game would be Wednesday @ 2PM? I checked my guide to record it and the game isn't listed. Any idea why?

Just a quick heads up.

For anyone with iO.

On your remote control push the red 'c' button.

Then when the menu comes up, select 'search'.

When that loads, input "IIHF".

The next game will appear. Select it. And schedule a recording (if you have DVR).

That's how i've been following. Its a lot easier then trying to find the channel yourself. Its quite automatic.

Hope that helps at least a few of you :-)
