Speed is all they have in common. That's it.... 19th overall is not considered being "highly touted". If anything he was not really on team's radars picking earlier in the 1st round because of the program he was coming out of heading into the draft. There wasn't much hype about him other than being fast and testing extremely well at the draft combine. Sjostrom has a good shot? I sure didn't see him use it when he was with the Rangers... I remember him taking slapshots with a long wind up and not getting his shot off all that frequently.... Kreider has an excellent, hard wrist shot that he gets off with a very quick release... Not like Sjostrom's shot at all.... 2 out of your 4 stated reasons to compare the players has NOTHING to do with how they play the game (draft position and size). Skating is comparable but that, again, doesn't tell you anything about how a player plays the game and what role he projects to fill. I strongly disagree about their shots/shooting ability. Kreider is undeniably ahead of Sjostrom in terms of shooting the puck and a nose for the net. Chris is also better along the boards and a scoring threat in the slot.....

Can't help but feel you believe Kreider is going to develop into a bottom 6 forward and therefore you are reaching to compare him to a player we know is already an established 4th liner....

In terms of how he plays the game, Kreider is much closer to a Jeff Carter type in terms of his shot, frame, skating (although Chris is faster), but less play-making ability.... This comparison is independent of Carter's stats in the NHL, I'm talking strictly how the players play the game on the ice.....

Looked good, too. If Steps was closer to the net he probably would've potted it backhand.

USA's goaltending is so bad.

Edit: Actually Conklin was decent against Canada.

Looks like Kreider got 2 minutes for being bigger and stronger than the French player. Charging my ass. I hate international reffing.

Gave me a good opportunity to show that my disdain for international refereeing is not my USA homerism. What the **** kind of call was that?

I think Hank once said that Shoe had the best wrister on the team. And he was was pretty good in the SO.

Sjostrom had a pretty good wrist shot but he always shot it directly into the goalies chest during games. He had no real accuracy

So Gaborik basically just matched his season total with his goal today.

*This is just a joke, I am in no shape or form a Gaborik-hater*
