Is the atmosphere much worse at 12:00 games. I'm worried it will be more tame
Yes, but it's just another monkey to get off their back.
I went to the worst of these games: SJ/STL Game 6 in 99-00 playoffs. First time the Sharks can win a series at home. Noon opening faceoff at home, nationally televised on ABC.
Sharks lost 6-2. Worst playoff performance I ever saw in person. It can't be worse than that. Like I said, let's embrace this. This is a chance to show the hockey world who we are. I'm hoping we crush them 6-0 Friday and 10-0 on Sunday. Could happen
NHL Head Coaches are, by and large, vastly overrated, especially when correlating the success and failure of the team to coaching prowess. Todd McLellan is the epitome of this.
Thanks for posting. This is another nice touch. Game 1 is NOT a Versus Exclusive, so for those of us out of market, Versus may just show the CSN-CA feed (Since they won't pick up the FSN Detroit feed, another nice bonus of Detroit vs. Chicago [CSN Chicago, I'd rather die than watch that feed])...
I'm probably more pissed that the rumor was right of the two day layoff between 2 and 3. Were there any Joe Louis conflicts? Otherwise, it seems like NHL just wanted to give the Wings a Friday night game.
There are no conflicts at the Joe between now and the end of the second round.
Anyone know if the Versus exclusive games can be for only one team? FSN Detroit is broadcasting all games except Game 2 (since NBC has that one). Kind of strange that there is no local Sharks broadcast for Game 4 but there is for the Wings.
As some of you know, I've had a suit to wear for the day of road playoff games (light colored suit with teal shirt and tie, approximate road colors). So far 3-0 in the playoffs with the get up.
I'm going to have a black suit with teal shirt and tie (Approximate home colors with black armor) for the day [Friday] Game 1 at home. Obviously if they win, I'll be wearing it for Game 2, yes on a Sunday, which interestingly enough won't look odd for someone to be wearing a suit on Sunday morning...in Texas.
Out of market you'll need NHL CI for that game, which for me means thank god, I'll get Randy and Drew for at least 1 game of this series.
I got Randy and Drew for every game of the Sharks/Kings series on Vs.
It seems that for their late games Vs. just taps into a feed from one of the teams, so it's likely you'll (and we'll) get plenty of Randy and Drew with no Ken and Mickey.
Don't get me wrong, your announcers are among the best in the league and I normally enjoy catching the SJ broadcast - but not against my team and not in an extended playoff series.
I Hate Vs. and NBC as much as you all seem to, wish my CI would just let me watch my home feed or I wish Vs. would pony up and run a neutral team of broadcasters.
