interesting fact: only phx has boycotted the 4th round longer than the sharks out of the teams who have never been there.

****, I have a fatass Chem exam Monday morning. And as to the Playoff Forum, all the Wings fans keep ignoring the fact that their defense sucks. They did have the worst regular season GAA of any playoff team...

The Sharks are better team than they were last season, Detroit is the same at best. The Sharks won round 1 in 6 games last year against the 8th seed. This year they won in 6 against the 7th seed. Jimmy Howard is going to get lit up, again, by the Sharks' offensive depth. Lidstrom, Rafalski, Stuart, are all one year older now and last year couldnt keep up with the faster, stronger, more physical Sharks. Its not even going to be close. Sharks in 6, and thats a generous prediction.

Wings fan here, if it isn't obvious enough. I think we're in for a good series. I don't think it's going to be as one sided as some suggest. Good luck to your team. And no matter which team wins, let's pray for no injuries so that we can be ready for the next round.

Well said! Minus the injuries, the playoffs have been amazing this year. Let's keep it going either way

Just no game costing mistakes from Wallin, PLEASE. Last playoffs we were fortunate enough to not have Wallin in any game of the SJ/DET series. Now he's primed to play every game.

Ok - I'm confused....

CSNBAYAREA.COM has
Game 1 on CSNCA
Game 2 on NBC
Game 3 on CSNCA
Game 4 on VS.
Game 5 on VS. (JIP - OUCH!!!)
Game 6 on CSNCA
Game 7 on CSNCA

But some folks are saying Game 5 will be on CSNCA

SJSHARK.COM does NOT list CSNCA broadcasting any of the games???

Just got a new job and it's a four hour drive to Detroit. I wonder how bad it will look if I ask to leave early a week in

NHL and Sharks.NHL.com don't always have the local TV in the schedules immediately.

Don't worry about JIP. Any nationally exclusive game will be shown locally in SJ and Detroit complete.

Welp, I'm not happy about the road game at 4PM, but I'm less concerned than most of you about the weekend afternoon/evening games. It's like football season! Makes me tempted to tailgate game 5 all day...

I hope there aren't any JIP games that aren't carried by CSNCA though.

No worries there. By rule a Versus-JIP game means it's released to RSNs locally and also for those out of market, available on NHL CI in its entirety. The whole point of Versus JIP is that nationally people get to see the end of the JIP game (end of 3rd/OT). That's why the schedule will sometimes read one game at 7pm ET on Versus, another game at 7:30pm ET on Versus (JIP).

Versus alternate should get the JIP games Nationally.

It's either going to be really close or the Red Wings are going to take this home quick.
I hope the opposite would be the case though and that the Sharks would crush Detroit in 4-5 games.

Well I bought tickets to both home games, so I'm looking forward to checking out San Jose. I'm an Avs fan and hated playing against the Sharks because they always had our number, especially Marleau. But I hate Detroit with a passion so I hope I get to watch them feel the pain of a Thornton in their side. I'm also hoping Couture continues his clutchness because the kid has been awesome to watch.

Red Wings aren't taking nothing quick. Even if we are down in a game, we have Joe "tie game, biatch" Pavelski. Nemo will bounce back too.

Anybody else as worried about Nemo's rebounds this series as I am? I don't expect Nemo to let in as many "softies" as he did against LA, but I'm really worried about Nemo kicking out huge rebounds. Detroit's not going to have 20 shots per game like the Kings had. They're going to get off at least 30-35 shots per game. Nabby played great against the Wings last year, but he definitely has much better rebound control than Nemo. Kind of worried about Wings banging in rebounds this year though. Especially with Holmstrom and Cleary parked in front of the net the whole game

BUT on the other hand, Quick played out of his mind against the Sharks, but we still managed to light him up quite frequently. Definitely don't see Howard playing as well as Quick did. We also scored a bunch of goals against a team that focuses heavily on defense. That has to be good news for our offense.

Are we about to witness a track meet??

Barnaby is the only ESPN "expert" picking the Sharks.
