Let's just do away with them like we did last year and then we can laugh really hard at them for pulling this dumbass move.

Calm the **** down. They made a playful video poking fun at a stereotype regarding an expansion team's fanbase--they didn't murder us. It's not much different than the South Park Cartman shorts they play at LA Kings games.

Point taken

It's fine to be annoyed by it, I just think responding to that type of banter with disparaging remarks about the economic woes of a poor state isn't something I'd want to hear from their fanbase if we had made a similar video about them.

I agree it's a silly video and to not overreact...

...that said, as someone who owns a production company, I'm so very tempted to create a response video... so... very.. tempted.

If I had the time, I would absolutely do it.

We completely have no time for it but.. you know what, if people have some suggestions (we're local, so unless everyone wants to fly us out to Detroit, it'll have to be a video in SF/SJ, whatever), I'll definitely consider it!

Just dress up a couple people in wings jerseys (haphazardly of course) and hand them scripts to read and have them read them very robotically while they answer inane questions.

I can fully edit this video if need be, and I don't mind being on camera...I worked as sports video producer at college, so it's not unfamiliar territory for me. Only problem is I don't have a wire or lapel mic...only nat sound SD camcorder, which I don't think will cut it. If someone has that available, I can do this tomorrow! (at Santana Row?)

We're a fully stocked production house (we've worked with 7-11, Samsung, Reebok, blahblah), so we've got every goodie you can think of.

It's more than we're in SF and have two things to shoot, stupidly, on Friday night and Sunday morning (the saddest scheduling news of all... thank god for DVR) so this idea is proving tough.

I could maybe do it next week sometime, but then it all depends on the score in the series...

I know I'm a little late to the schedule reaction fest, but this is pretty good for me. No conflict w/ Saturday night family stuff or busy primetime TV nights.

I just wish there could be more Randy and Drew.

Wings fan here. That video was quite irritating, not a fan of that stuff. It goes down to just about the most base level of "comedy" around... not clever, not funny.

I'm suprised at the Wings putting that up as well, seems really beneath them.

Disapprove.

He walks outside the Wings hotel (Hotel Valencia) in Santana Row on a weekday when most of the bay area is at work and asks a bunch of mommies the same questions. He got what he was looking for.

i agree. its an incredibly small sample size, and we could see who he was asking. it wasnt some blind poll that called the entire city stupid.

From now on, whenever I want to poll 8 women / a doofus / a British couple / and one of Kris Draper's Hockey School janitors from Troy Michigan, I will head straight to Santana Row at 11am on a weekday.

Somebody should go out there and ask the people around town if they know what a job is.

Who's going to call the game tomorrow? I hope Emrick doesn't make the trip to San Jose for the game.

I bet it's going to be Ken Daniels.
