My only lingering concern, same as last round, is if the Sharks underestimate their opponents and don't play up to capabilities. Then again this is the Wings we're talking about so that should not happen.
Must play full 60 minutes, no early lapses either cause we are not going to come back from 4-0 against the wings

Too bad you can't hop into the parallel universe where the Hawks win and then sweep us again.

Now that we have our matchup set, can we stop with the doom and gloom over the matchups? It's all done now. Nucks, Sharks, Wings, and Preds. That's whose left in the West. Sharks better step up and bring it, period.

Im going to say Sharks in 7. Somehow, I got this eerie feeling that Datsyuk is going to tear us a new one.

2011 Sharks > 2010 Sharks
2011 Wings < 2010 Wings

Then again, it's not always that easy.

I think the Sharks go undefeated at home and split in Detroit. Sharks in 5.

Any inside knowledge of WCSF dates for Sharks/Wings? Usually someone has some inside scoop that the Sharks have been informed that Games 1 and 2 will be on specific days (as happened with the WCQF this year)...

I always get confused between the Wings and Hawks whose name is or isn't one or two words.

we did it before and we can do it again!

The key, I think, will be to hit them early. Old legs after a long rest...may be slow to get their game going.

For those of you who are saying the Wings are worse than last year, that's completely false.

Last year was a half-rebuild for them. Now they actually have depth.

Anyway, Detroit, here we go again.
Hoping for the best.

This.

Also, injuries were bad this year, but 100 times worse last year IMO for the wings.

Dude, if I could hop into parallel universes, I would take care of a few things in my own life before adjusting the Sharks' second round matchup. There's no use crying over spilt milk, but to me I really think Chicago would have been a better matchup, and Vancouver would be out of the picture. Yes, we beat LA in 6, but our sloppy play was not encouraging.

And, for a second there, I forgot to consider the fact that the Red Wings have Shark-killer Modano.... uh oh.

If the series begins Friday (Reasonable assumption), will the Wings be fully healthy? What's the word? I suspect whether Zetts and Franzen play could make a difference in this series.

I thought I read that Franzen was out for Game 1 regardless?

why? That's the way they have to think! You can't go in with a "man, they're so great, it's going to be so close."

No. The attitude needs to be "we've beaten them before, so let's kick their butts again."

Zetterberg should be ready for game 1, though whether or not he's 100% is questionable. Franzen I have no idea.

I'm sure all the Sharks are juiced to draw the Wings, especially Joe "Wing Killer" Thornton. Thornton steps up his game against the Wings so much it's unreal.
