Well hopefully Crankshaft has Zetts in his crosshairs...

I don't think he can do much from the press box.

Added Hudler and Modano (not much, but huge upgrade over a guy like Jason Williams), and Our younger guys...Helm, Abdelkader, Eaves, Miller, Ericsson, and Kindl have all made HUGE strides this season. Our top guys are the same as last year, but depth wins a series. There was no depth last time.

No. The attitude needs to be "we've beaten them before, so let's kick their butts again."
I actually think you have to go with that mentality. Be confident without being cocky/presumptuous. Don't assume that this series will bear any similarity to last year's or to the regular season.

If we focus and clean up the PPK, I think we can pull through, but something needs to change because we can't count on scoring 4 goals/game against Detroit.

I think you meant Jason Williams.

I like this matchup because everytime we play the Wings we bring our best I notice. It should be a classic.

I can see the Sharks giving up like ten shorthanded goals to Helm.

If the Sharks match the Wings intensity/work ethic, they win the series. I think I can say that for any team they face.

To me, rivals are all about teams you meet up with in the playoffs. The Sharks biggest rival is the Wings, IMHO. They've played them the most times in the playoffs, in classic series', whether it be the 94 upset, the 95 drumming, the 07 6 game barn-burner [that could been a Sharks sweep or at least up 3-1], or the '10 5 game win by the Sharks.

If the Sharks can win this series, the Wings will start looking at the Sharks the way the Nucks looked at the Hawks for the past few seasons...

Could start Thursday. Only conflicts in the next two weeks are at the Tank (5/4 concert; 5/7 Sabrecats -- but we know they could be moved, and scheduled on Friday).

Possible schedule:

4/28 (Thursday)
4/30 (Saturday)
5/2 (Monday)
5/4 (Wednesday)
5/6 (Friday)
5/8 (Sunday - Mother's Day)
5/10 (Tuesday)

I'm also sad because the GDTs this series are going to be full of headhunters instead of dance battles.

Thanks.

But yeah but it doesn't appear the NHL will announce the West schedule tonight. Could they really announce it tomorrow and expect Game 1 to go Thursday?

Impossible to make predictions until we know whether San Jose has a starting goaltender. Last year's 5 game win was largely predicated on Nabokov being much better than Howard, perhaps most decisively in Game 3, where he stones Zetterberg on a penalty shot in the 1st and kept the score within reach while Howard gives up the tying goal to Couture on a bad angle shot in the 3rd.

Yeah those are my thoughts as well. I have tickets for game 1 and requested Friday off from work because of it.

Please do not start on Thursday.

Pollak - "99%" possible that Vancouver-Nashville start Thursday which probably means Sharks-Wings start on Friday.

No announcement tonight.

Yeah, wings fan here in peace, what the hell is up with that? Joe Thornton always seems to play his best games against the wings, I thought he was a choker

But that goes for every team. Personally I like our chances now better rather than the alternative because the Sharks and Wings play such a similar style. It's the fast transition game that kills both of our teams, which is why Chicago looked so dangerous.
