As per CJAD!

I guess Gregory Campbell made another call to ''Daddy''.

5 and a game misconduct was enough, IMO.

It's not like he's been a factor anyways.

Wasn't expecting one, didn't think there should be one.

And if Lucic weren't playing like ****, I'd say we were extremely lucky he got booted from the game last night. But as it were, we were just somewhat fortunate.

It's a rule. If your contact with a player causes that player to draw blood, it's an automatic 5 minute major and game misconduct.

Not like it was worthy of one anyways.

Refs got it right on the ice and the league got it right on the suspension. It wasn't suspension worthy.

I don't even think he deserved a penalty on the play so definitely not surprised. Like I said in the other thread maybe a 2 for boarding but that's it. He never left his feet, came in arms low and just finished a check on Spacek who turned last second because of the way he shot the puck deep. It was a hard hit no doubt, but I think the refs were a little intimidated by the home crowd on the play. At least that's how I saw it.

I was unaware of that, thank you.

I'm glad I was unaware though so I could take that shot at Lucic.

That's news to me. Where is that in the rulebook?

Didn't feel there should have been. A friend told me there was so I came on to check, sure enough there isn't a suspension. I'm not happy or anything, would have been fun to see them side with us for once, but hey he doesn't deserve to be suspended in a game 7 let alone even a regular season game. It was from behind, it wasn't intent to injure though.

I think here:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26329

Quote:
41.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - When a major penalty is imposed under this rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.
Makes it seem like that the major was up to the ref, but because he gave a major and because Spacek was injured (ie, bleeding) he had to give a game misconduct.

This

The game misconduct was a bit harsh but acceptable. Further suspension would have been ridiculous IMO.

NBD, Spacek returned and it's not like Lucic has been murdering us anyway. Now, if he scores the winning goal, yeah I'm gonna be pissed .

IMO didn't even deserve a 5 min, let alone a game misconduct.

Its not surprising.

Lucic has been a non factor so far, anyways. Better him on the ice than Seguin (who'd try very hard to prove Julien he's been an idiot to not play him so far).

Was not expecting it at all. He got the penalty he deserved at the time and it helped the Habs a lot.

He has been terrible all series. It's better if he's in so he takes more stupid penalties.

Didn't deserve one, I was actually ok with how this thing was handled as a whole. I would also be fine with a 2 only, although I don't think the 5 was unfair (I think it was borderline between them, and hell the way the refs were it's a wonder they got one of the 2 options right. Wouldn't have been surprised if they called a 4 min for high stick causing blood, even though no stick was involved).

And as some others have say... I think we're better with them having Lucic in the line-up than out. A suspension to Lucic might've given some other players extra ice time to show themselves, or let Seguin in their line-up and have him have the game of his career, or whatever.

Now Lucic's there, he'll likely be angry because of being out last game, and in the end the most likely thing to result out of that the way he's been playing is more PP time for us.

Originally thought it was a Checking from Behind but it was boarding+visible injury that brought the misconduct into play.
