I'm already amped for Boston/TB. I think it goes 7. Kinda nice that I'm able to move on from the Caps loss much earlier this season and just enjoy hockey as it plays out.

That Joe Thornton no-look pass to Setoguchi for the PP goal reminded me a lot of something that Backstrom used to do. I hope we see more of that again next year.

Didn't want OT in terms of the time last night, but wanted OT when the game was ending...what a fun game to watch.

Strange, don't really care who wins the Cup this year... every year if the Caps are out i cheer for Detroit, if Detroit is out, than whoever plays Pittsburgh or Philly, but this year i just don't give a ****...

I guess, for me its kind of goes like this:

San Jose - just because their fan base has been tortured even more then the Caps fan base.
Tampa - because they are from SE and they beat us.
Boston - dont really like anybody on that team that much besides TT.
Vancouver - cant stand majority of their fan base.

Also, after watching Detroit - San Jose series, it hurts me to say this, but in my opinion we are quite a bit away from a true Stanley Cup contender... overall our team concept isn't there yet, we are still missing some major components... i hope we can figure it out in the nearest future, before our top horses get old or be traded away.

Kaberle & Ryder ≠ Winning.

Lundin pulls a Schultz and maybe we've got a game.

Still stings to see Tampa playing and not us, especially when I feel the Caps team is much more talented.

Well remember to qualify as a Steckle it has to be done with malicious intent. You have to have thought about executing the hit for years. It can't be accidental in any way shape or form....at least thats what Pen fans tell me.

I know but remember Southeast Division Pride....actually you know what ****** that. I'm not some hillbilly SEC fan that roots for rivals to feel good about myself when my own team falls short. COME ON BOSTON KILL TAMPA! SHOVE AN ESPOSITO SANDWICH DOWN THEIR THROATS!

I was not expecting this.... although Boston's PP is absolutely awful... they might be better off taking a penalty and getting a 4-4 whenever they go on the PP haha

Anyone else starting to think this defensive hockey philosophy is wrong? All throughout the playoffs the teams that seem to be winning are the ones that can move up and down the ice and score goals.

In fact in watching the Tampa Bay series I found myself wondering if we were getting stomped by ourselves from last year.

I got so cocky waching the West too seeing how teams like San Jose and even Detroit were playing attacking wide open hockey and thinking that "they won't go far in the playoffs playing like that. We know what we're doing, defensive hockey FTW!"

Now Tampa is dominating another "defense first" team, it just makes me wonder because at least before we weren't getting swept rather we lost in 7 games to a ridiculously hot goalie and the eventual Stanley Cup Champions.

Maybe we delved to far into the "defense first" style.

I thought it was awesome. But if I was that Tampa player coming in after Herman was punched I think I would have crosschecked lucic's face... And probably sat a game.

I feel the style has little to do with it. It comes down to how well the team is coached.

tampa just won with their 2-3 forcheck...it makes our "system" even look more like a joke, it was basically a excuse for bruce to not make adjustments at all. (besides his panic line combos) sry people for bringing this up but every time i try to watch hockey right now i going in rage mode.

After watching last nights game I am happyy Tim Thomas is not on the Caps. He might be a fine goalie, but the guy throws himself around to much for my liking. Him being on the Caps wouuld be murder for my nerves in a tight game.

the only SLP's i like are when its the caps doing it. Then I know at least one player is unhappy about not winning, and merely going through the motions waiting for the game to end to collect another paycheck. It makes me feel better seeing someone else besides me is mad.

I tune out the NHL when the Caps choke. I did see Tampa was up 3 zippy on Boston when I was at the bar last night.

Helluva hire by Yzerman landing Bouch. GM'ing isnt all about landing studs with 1st rounders.
