You know what's awesome? Someone proposed this deal last year. Anyone remember that? And we all agreed on it (both sides). Goes to show you some people are actually reasonable on HFboards.

Works. Saving a little money, Foster is good on the powerplay. Definitely expect him to play with Sbisa, if he stays here at all, and Fowler with Beauch. Can't see Fowler/Foster working.

Also, starting to look for the thread that had this exact deal a little while ago on the trade boards.

Fine by me, cut a little room and add a RH to compete with Brookbank.

Someone go find that Edmonton fan who proposed this. Okay so someone must have suggested this to one of the GMs

I'm okay with this trade, sutton doesn't work here at all.

. The Oilers thought that too when we signed him but he isn't. He has an amazing slap shot but no accuracy. If any of your players are in front of the net, be aware, he has a tendency to hurt his teammates instead of hitting the net or even the goalie with that slap shot. He's also brutal defensively and not that good of a skater. He is a good person but terrible player. Your better off giving him very limited minutes if this deal does indeed go through.

Not a fan but that is because I don't like Foster as a player. He's a liability defensively and may as well be 5'10 because that's about the size he plays. I would take last years Sutton over him (yeah, he's that bad) but when considering the salary savings then I think it's a fair deal.

That being said, he has a hell of a shot and will be good for our second PP unit. One of the hardest in the league (not so accurate though). Considering both he and Sbisa play the right side, I'm not sure who will be playing with who. I don't know that Foster is that far ahead Brookbank though so he may have been acquired to be our no 7 guy.

Andy Sutton Scouting Report

Just wondering what role he played for you guys last year.

Shutdown D, puck mover, etc.

PP, PK ?

1-2 D-man, 3-4 D-man, 5-6 D-man ?

Thanks

Even though it's not done yet, I can't help but wonder how Murray makes these kinds of deals with the Oilers. First the Whitney-Lubo deal then Foster-Sutton. Both times we get the better player (at the time of the trade at least) and the Oilers get the struggling player.

Well back at you since Sutton is a freaking pylon. What's worse is he takes the stupidest penalties. He is seriously bad and could not even crack the Ducks lineup the last part of the season. Freaking Brookbank was playing ahead of him.

Since they both suck, this works out well for both teams!
