Connolly had a separated sternum.

Player locker room will be expanded to about twice the size it is now.

I like this wide open view talk
Richards to Buf! Hey if he chooses not go come, fine but I atleast want to know we made a top offer.

I think I may put a suggestion on the Sabres website that they put a webcam or pictures of the renovations fairly regularly. Like 3-4 times a week.

It would make the off-season go that much faster and enjoyable.

Darcy said they're going to try to add offensively. He also said that they'd likely add defensively, but pointed out that the young defensive core made huge strides from the first quarter of the season to the last quarter of the season, and reminded that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Sounds to me like upgrading the offense is the first and second priority, and they'll try to add one defenseman into the mix, as well.

Bucky looked very fat today.

Also, Mr. Gleason : Nobody cares if people ask YOU about trades.

Me too I imagine we will make a big splash up front, and then patch up the D and hope that our young guns progress during the season some more.

His "Is every player available" question was such a trainwreck. Initally, he was referring to our roster. I think he started realizing how stupid the question was and that he was spinning his wheels so much that he started changing the question to "will every outside player be within the real of acquiring?" Guy's a joke.

I find it amusing that he defends his job by saying he's a columnist, and it's his job to give opinion and analysis, yet he still goes and does reporter stuff in press conferences.

He's gotten to be a better columnist, but he's still a crappy reporter.

The first day of free agency might be interesting this year. Looks like we will be pouring some coin into the offense. So, who is available?

Is this Jeremy White that's advancing this Spezza myth? If so, it may behoove him to read some of the news coming out of Ottawa that Murray isn't trading him and Spezza wants to help the rebuild.

My gut feeling, based on some veiled references Regier made at the trade deadline, is that we could see a change or two happen at the draft, well ahead of free agency. It'd certainly be refreshing to see the Sabres be more proactive about trades and free agents, instead of their usual reactive, "wait-for-the-table-scraps" philosophy of the past.

Anyone who listens to more than 1-2 hockey discussions on WGR's morning show knows that Jeremy White and Howard Simon worship the words of Eklund as gospel - and we all know that Eklund makes a living out of ignoring documented quotes by players, coaches and GMs.

This is exactly what i was hoping they would try and do this offseason!

I was thinking of asking them for better access to team stats. Like...downloadable excel files, .sql files, etc.

Would love to write some sql queries throughout the season. Imagine the stats we can look up that aren't available to us on NHL.com or Sabres.com.

Yes.

God forbid any of those guys do a little research before spewing that stuff out. This is the kind of stuff that spawns some of the phone calls from hell on that show.

To be fair, Murray said he received calls on Spezza. It is wholly possible that Spezza there were serious discussions, muwwah sat spezza down and asked him if he wanted to be traded or stay, he said stay, so they decided to keep him.

Other than a #1 center, I really don't think the offense is much of a problem. The defense, however, is at least in the bottom half of the NHL. Our D has potential and there's a possibility that it will get better on its own, but I don't agree that defense should be a low priority.

I wish someone would have asked if offer sheets are an option. Zach Bogosian would be really worth acquiring this offseason, IMO (him and Kyle Turris).
