I'm not too sure what they are up too. I was talking about between 8-12 years ago our paths had crossed a few times.
I have one buddy that does tattoo's and they (the twins) came into the shop he worked at to get tattooed. They asked the guy behind the desk to play a CD well they were getting inked. Guess whose CD it was? Pat yourself on the back if you said theirs.
Anyways my buddy asked the counter guy " what the **** kind of **** band are we listening too?" They usually played good music in there. Needless to say the twin sheepishly said it was their band.
Another time they came to a party I was at and the guy was there wearing more makeup than a french hooker, a Raiders jersey, and about 5 gold chains on his neck.
Also the first time I had met the singer I had no idea who he was. He told me he was afraid to go to shows in Baltimore because they were too rough. Bunch of tools IMO.
I think they had an album out a few years ago that was done before the TV promo tour.
After the lead singer broke up with Hillary Duff, who called Walforf "a pretty little ghetto town" he hooked up with Nicole Richie who he married over the weekend. They have two kids, Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight.
Waldorf's own Good Charlotte is on Leno right now. To say they've changed their sound would be an understatement.
I still remember Joel singing the anthem and he and Benji playing on the 200 level platform during intermission because they were friends of Brendan Witt.
While they claim Waldorf, not really. La Plata, or Bryantown even is more like it. They lived there a bit, but eh, it's hard to really say. I think they claim Waldorf more because people might actually see it on a map.
Having went to high school with them, they're alright guys, but their music is bad.
Whatever, I mean, they're rich and I'm not, so I'm not going to give anyone grief. Benji's an alright dude, and they're less of toolbags then many people in the business and in some bands.
They realize they're not playing for everyone, and hey, even though I think their music sucks, I respect them for doing what they want.
As for them being posers, as opposed to what? When do they try to pretend to be something they're not?
Note, I don't really care. They hit the lottery, and I don't get the hate on em.
I'll take it. Got rid of a lockerroom cancer with bad knees and a massive contract. Lewis' contract is huge as well, but it's a year shorter than Gil's. I'd think he's also be easier to move if you need to.
So, just finished Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings and really enjoyed it. It's gonna suck waiting the 15 years for the series to finish, however.
I'm considering the Mistborn trilogy next, but might go with the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. Anyone read either one?
LOVED The Name of the Wind - so much so that my wife is reading it now and is at the tail end and she has loved it. so far as i know the 2nd book is not out yet... so understand that even if book 2 comes out soon, we still have a few years til book 3.
i'd highly recommend Joe Abercrombie's The First Law series - i just finished and loved it... one of those series you are sad that it is over. GRR Martin & Rothfuss are both fans of his work btw.
on a lark i bought the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy for my wife and am reading it right now... for like the 3rd time since 7th grade lolzorz
This was a great deal for grunfeld and the wizards especially given the contract Gilbert was signed to.....and I think having Lewis and blatche with mcgee at center will provide a formidable forward/center combo. Additionally Josh Howard is back tonight supposedly
I don't see why. He got rid of a mopey lockerroom cancer that has no explosiveness anymore, and saved around $20 million and an extra year of a contract.
This deal is good for the Wizards organization.
That said, Grunfeld wore out his welcome long ago. Never liked how he constructed the team.
I've never felt that grunfield has made any bad moves....we've had some horrible luck with injuries...when the players he has signed have played they've played well, it's not like he has signed players that haven't produced.
