Celeb Fans

To get away from all the ranting, raving, screaming and inbreeding (I won't mention whose happy faces this relates to), I thought we would go a little off topic and throw out a topic from the NHL Chat boards.

http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.p...34#post1640934

Celebrity fans of the Rangers:
Chad Lower (Party of 5)
Chad Smith (Chili Peppers drummer)
Chris Jerico (WWE)
Gary Dell'Abate (from Stern)
Kim Alexis (model)
Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City)
Mike Rosenbaum (Smallville)
Susan Sarandon
Tim Robbins
Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies drummer)

We usually have a ton of stars show up at the Superskate but most are fans elsewhere. Anyone else know of any others? I think John McEnroe is up here as well but was looking for confirmation. Saw him at a few games and know he goes to the Superskate each year.

Hey all, first post here. I've been lurking for quite some time and have finally decided to post. Blueshirt13, I think you're missing Boomer Esiason. I remember he attended a lot of our playoff games during our Cup run in 1994. Or he could just be a bandwagon fan....

Yeah...include Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley also. I remember seeing them there. Maybe they can resurrect their careers playing defense for the Rangers.....

ClutchTom ...Welcome .....

Denis Leary is certainly a Bruins fan, but he often participates in NYR SuperSkate. I believe he lives in the NYC area.

Welcome to the boards ClutchTom. Feel free to post on anything. Fresh blood is welcome always. Just beware because animals will bite so keep your hands away from the cages!

Boomer does attend the Superskate yearly but I think claims loyalties to another team as well.

I've seen:

Johnny Knoxville
Barbara Walters
Jason Biggs

I also know Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman have gone to a few games. Don't know if they're fans though.

May he Rest in Peace John Jr. (Kennedy) was at some games.
George Wendt (Noooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm)
Dennis Leary
Cuba Gooding Jr. (was at a Ranger/Islander game and the crowd started to cheer and he said "Let's Go Rangers" and the Islander fans in attendance started to boo.)

David Wells, Mike Hampton, Piazza have all been there.

I loved when Anthony Mason was at the 94 playoff games.

I don't think Barbara Walters is a hockey fan. She was at a game a couple of years ago--because Susan Sarandon (who had won an oscar the year before) was going to be her guest on Walters' pre-oscar special. I actually watched it and loved the fact that the last question she had for Susan Sarandon was something along the lines of--you have a great life, great career, great family...what more could you wish for? The answer: watching the Rangers win another Stanley Cup!

I was at that game. She was sitting directly across the other side of the arena. I could see them from where I was sitting.

Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon are pretty big hockey/ranger fans.

Tim coaches roller hockey at chelsea piers and his son plays on his team (I play against them occasionally). It's funny, he has an oscar and he still hasn't spent $100 to buy his son real hockey skates. His kid uses old recreational skates with the brakes still on them!
Tim's a nice guy though, but he should stick to acting! If you thought Sather was an awful coach...

I was at that game too--although from where I sit the only way I know is they flashed Barbara Walters' picture on Gardenvision. When I saw an ad for the TV show, I knew Sarandon would work the Rangers in somehow.

I'm not sure if he's a Ranger fan or not but many years ago (maybe '92?) George Wendt of Cheers fame was at the Garden. They put his face on Gardenvision and the whole building screamed "NORM!!"

He raised his beer cup in appreciation. Does anyone else remember that?
