ECSF|Game 3|Washington Capitals @ Tampa Bay Lightning - 05-03-2011 - 6:30PM

First ever GDT and I wanna win.

I wanna win so badly that i'll try anything and an Aussie has decided to start the GDT.

To turn the luck around, let's turn the world around.
Go Caps.
If you book them, they will come.
Let's dance.

Game is at 6:30pm your time
Game is at 8:30am my time

Hey Caps, Where the bloody hell are ya.

If we lose this one, game 4 must be reserved for 442.

Got one chance, infiltrate them
Get it right, terminate them
The Panzers will, permeate them
Break their pride, denigrate them
And their people, retrograde them
Typhus, detriate them
Epidemic, devastate them
Take no prisoners, cremate them

EDIT: Oh, that makes some sense apparently. But originally that sounds like "**** the tampons".

BB can do many things. Change goalie. Change lines. Change trap for all-offense. I think he shouldn't go for run&gun as last resort now.

Just a slight change in lines maybe and we need first goal badly. No penalties, no bad bounces. Pwn them with muscles and wait for opportunity.

We should be able to win tonight with the same tactics.

And we don't need PP either =)

HA. Was on here pretty early this AM ready to make the GDT. Having said that, I have a pretty good feeling about this regardless. It's time for desperation to set in, and I do NOT see both the 1/2 seeds going 0-2 at home loosing both in their opposing cities. Caps 4-2!

I have a very bad feeling about this game. I think penalties wise it's going to be a repeat of the first game in MSG.

If we werent down two games or up two games, things would seem weird.

If Varly gets the start and wins tonight, I expect Bruce to go with him in the next game, and shock the world.

Man that would be crazy for the caps to deflect two goals into their own net but a ballsy call for sure!

We need to get just break even in special teams. I dont know how to do it but if nothing else Bruce should simply copy what they are doing if what he is doing is failing miserably.

I would start with Ovi. Its been years now since he and Green dominated scoring goals on the PP. Its just not happening. Something needs to change. Green and Ovi on the points is two year old news. They even talked about it on 106.7 radio, Wideman in there, our PP magically came to life, no system change. Carlson a PP goal in his first shift on PP1 had as many as Ovi IIRC.

Standing on the point, Ovi is unaggressive and flat footed. He is probably gassed half the time, saving all his energy for his next race on a clear. When the puck comes around the boards, go get it. Dont just stand there watching it. Clean the dude out if nothing else. Green and G get his back.

Bah, we need Varly to stand on his head and shutdown their PP and hope we go even steven = zippy PP goals.

And stop being a bunch of wusses and crash the net and show some heart.

Caps need to maintain a physical game plan. Simple as that. That means Ovie blowing people up early and often. The team feeds off that kind of play from him so much.

Also, get Ovie off the freaking point and stick to the aggressive PK.

I have little to no confidence they will win this game.

That said...they win 4-3 and the misery continues another day.
