Yes, he does. He should be the first to go, but the chances are not good.

Carcillo at 950,000 is a lot for the fourth line. I'd prefer to see Rinaldo there for way cheaper

Carcillo I think has really shown he does have somewhat of an offensive upside these playoffs and honestly, it's kinda nice. Also, he is going to be an RFA, and isn't there something with RFA where you have to add at least 10% of their current salary minimum to re-sign them? I don't know where I heard it but still.

Hartnell would be nice to go, but yeah, his NTC is kinda painful. Seriously, if we could get rid of him, I might even think of keeping Versteeg.

God no

He's 41.

Plus Tampa needs to re-sign any number of guys like Stamkos, Gagne, Bergenheim, Purcell, Hall, and Brewer, plus Smith and Roloson. They won't have money for all of them me thinks.

This is what the Flyers NEED. Just imagine how much fun it would be to see Carcillo and Rypien on a line together

But seriously, I'd rather have those two top lines and two defensive oriented/checking/energy lines. Carcillo has been solid this post season and I would like to see him stay a Flyer and I've always liked Powe a lot.

What's wrong with that option? He's tearing it up and he is a legitimate #1 tender. I'll take him for a year without thinking twice.

Because there are several other better options. And being 41, who knows when he'll start falling apart physically.

I have liked what I have seen out of Schneider but why would we trade for a 2nd year goalie? Is he that much of an up grade over Bob?

I would call up Darcy Rieger and make him the following offer:

Mike Richards/Jeff Carter (their choice) + Matt Carle + Blair Betts

For

Ryan Miller + Paul Gaustad + Andrej Sekera

Buffalo's most pressing need is to upgrade at center, and Brad Richards is the only legit option that's an UFA. Richards and a healthy Roy is a nice 1/2 combo.

Betts replaces most of what the overpaid Gaustad brings at 1/3rd the price.

Carle carries a higher price tag, but at this point is definitely an upgrade over Sekera.

As for goalies they have Enroth, who obviously isn't Miller, but is someone they regard very highly.

Miller gives the Flyers a legit, big time goalie for the next few years.

Gaustad adds size and face-off ability. He costs more than he should, but its only for one season.

Sekera is a young puck moving defenseman, that is much cheaper than Carle, with the ability to become a top 4 defenseman down the road.

Have to disagree on this one.

Miller is untouchable in my mind, and can't see Buffalo thinking any different.

There's zero chance the Sabres trade Ryan Miller, especially when they just got a new owner who wants to spend more money.

People keep waiting for Roloson's body to fall apart and decompose, but it keeps not happening, and that was certainly a blown opportunity when we had more than one chance at him.

This is Philadelphia. The second they acquire him, his hips will die.

Well, it's not only that but you don't willingly trade your legitimate, bona fide #1 goaltender unless he's not your #1 goaltender anymore.

Do I think they'll trade Miller? Doubtful

That being said, my offer isn't a salary dump. It gives them a giant upgrade at center (their biggest need) and upgrades their defense.

Also still leaves them with money to sign Bryz or Vokoun.

More goalie options than top centers this summer.

I meant Rolo falling apart.

I agree that Miller is going nowhere.

Vokoun signing for less than $4M is a pipedream. Him signing for $4M-$5M is also very unlikely. Don't get your hopes up, guys.

I can probably almost guarantee you that Shelley won't be in the minors, mainly because Homer won't do that and Shelley is somewhat useful to keep other teams a bit more honest.

Maybe Carle and Versteeg for Edmonton's 2nd and Alex Plante?

He's going to be ****ing 35 at the start of next season. If he wants more than 4M, he can go back to Europe. Nabokov, who I still think can be a great goalie in the right hands, wanted 5 to 6 million for being almost the same age as Turco and Vokoun and they let him walk. If you are a smart enough GM, don't take a guy that's 35+ for more than 4M. ****, even Edmonton knew better not to spend more than 4M on Bulin.

Wait a minute, doesn't Edmonton have the King's first rounder?

Technically the King's 1st and Plante could equal them. Plante was also a first round pick (15th overall) in 2007.

True, but getting rid of your meal ticket isn't really the way to gain new momentum. If this is the case, why don't we just sign one of Breezy or Vokoun for ourselves?

If we pay 5+ for a ****ing goalie, I'd rather have Bryz, mainly because of age and that he is Russian and can help Bob. He's also I think less of a whiner than Vokoun (Vokoun was *****ing he wasn't playing enough even though he played 50+ games this season).
