The best part is how blatant interference goes uncalled game after game, yet they think a snow shower is going be a penalty next game.

You know what's cool? Boyle played less than 23 minutes. That's great, especially with all the PPs. He basically admitted he was tired during the LA series.

That's surprising he played 20ish (I remember reading the players' TOI during the 2nd intermission) minutes through 2 periods.

If they keep it up, they'll get an unsportsmanlike eventually, for sure. Hopefully they tone it down a little, but I like the sass, backed up by the rowdy Sharks fans chanting his name.

Serves Howard right though. I doubt the Sharks would be going out of their way to bug him if he hadn't been such a baby about the first shower by Pavs in game 1.

The curse has been lifted.

First playoff victory that I've attended in person since game 5 against the Wings last year.

The home day playoff monkey is off our back! I understand it's not yet the winning the WCF monkey (or winning a home game in the WCF monkey), but this monkey was a necessary one to get off our back if we want to keep going deep...

If Howard would simply HOLD ON to the puck I could see his case about the snow showers.
Agreed.
He is amazing on 1st saves. If the puck was dropping onto our sticks, like the come-back and the next 6 goal burst-game in the King series, we'd pot about 8 a game!

I would put Modano out there. Don't they know he owns the Sharks?
I'd sit Eager and give Mayers a shot. Leave Ferriero in there and fiddle with 4th line (without Eager the rest of this series)

Looking forward to games 3 and 4 and all the talk by the "experts" about how offensively gifted Detroit is...

edit*** Maybe I shouldn't say that last line? NM, I'll leave it...

I was up in SF this morning so watched the game at The Public House before catching the train home. I'm sure this has all been said, but that was a fun game to watch, the Sharks looked really good. And Nic Wallin, finally revealing his secret weaponess. He's played much better this series, good for him. Still don't think he should be out there in the last two minutes though...

Isn't that something many would say about Niemi?

And I'm not saying it's my personal opinion. I hope the best for both Sharks and Niemi. Stick it to them Wings.

totally off topic but listening to this VS. broadcast for the Caps and Lightning you can totally tell Pierre has his panties in a bunch. His attitude talking seriously sounds like he's pissed off. So annoying.

Now that we are up 2-0 I can not feel guilty for saying this, but that was my thought after game 1, especially for games in SJ: Modano loves to feast on the Sharks IN SJ. I realize Modano is basically done, but you'd think Babcock would know enough to play him. Good for us, I don't mind...

I don't think so. After the early part of the season, the team figured out where he deflected pucks and was very good 2nd half.

The Sharks have shown their good side these past few games. Hopefully they continue to play like this. It boggles my mind this is the same team that played so inconsistently against the kings.

I remember thinking that if the Sharks played like that in the second round, they would be swept for sure. But this is like a brand new team we're seeing here. Great team defense, Nemo coming up with clutch saves just like the regular season run. Keep it going boys!

Give props to the Kings. Their D and goaltending is MUCH better than the Wings (especially in San Jose, i.e. Kings at Sharks vs. Wings at Sharks). I feel like each game the Sharks are getting TONS of awesome scoring chances against the Wings and Howard looked shaky in both games. The D feels like Lidstrom and a bunch of other guys: Stuart and Kronwall especially are not that great and showing it.

With the Kings in Game 2 (and Game 5 and even Game 1), Sharks didn't have many great chances because of the Kings D and when they did, Quick was lights out.

Unless Pavs does it. Then it's "roughing"

Roughing was when Pavs hit Flippula in the head. I think Howard should have gotten an extra 2, though.

the penalties should of been, 2 pavs, 2 flippula, 2 howard.

flippula came in and grabbed pavs and threw a punch, so obviously he turned around and threw one back

I saw the replay and I must be Mr. Magoo because I didn't see that hit. I just saw the snow shower and then Howard popping Pavs. Either way we're up 2-0 heading to Detroit. I feel A LOT better than if the series was tied. LET'S GO SHARKS!!!!!
