I think it'll take another miracle to straighten out this ship...... can't catch a break for nothin!!! I just don't know what else to say about this. I just had the feeling going into OT that we would get robbed again. The guys really looked gassed, held my breath everytime they had the puck in our end. My nerves can't take this crap any more, plain and simple.
That loss was deflating for the team. That 2-0 lead evaporating was hard to take..the squandered effort by JVR is even more insulting...but Thomas' insane effort was outright ****....
NYR fan here. Just wanted to ask about Mike Richards. Is he playing hurt? Something seems off...he doesn't look like the usual Mike Richards. Seems a little passive at times. what gives? Less ice-time? Different role on the team now that you have Giroux & JVR? Missing his running partner in Carter?
I will bet he is playing injured as well, he hasn't been the same in a while.... then again, it could just be that he is in more of a shut down position.
I think it's now Bobrovsky's series from here on out. No reason to play him with that injury. The fact that they just made it public instead of being vague is telling.
This is the kind of game that makes you want to find a quiet room ... and fill it with noise.
Extremely frustrating loss, for about two thirds of the great saves Thomas made the Flyers had a puck hit the post or the crossbar behind Boucher. I think they could feel a bit better about Boucher's play tonight but that situation in net is still a sword of Damocles, especially with a two-game deficit now.
The Flyers came with most of the effort they needed tonight, particularly without Pronger and facing this kind of situation. They just couldn't get it done.
Anyone giving up on this team gets my respect as quite the pessimist though, the Flyers are kind of like the Steelers of the NHL, they can win sloppily and there's still plenty of sloppiness to come in this series.

Just like Last year Richards injures a Bruin in a home game and we lose a tough one. This happened a game earlier this year. This year well have to just come back from down 2-0. I'm optimistic.
Absolutely right, however, just because Thomas won the game for Boston doesn't mean that Boucher lost it for us.
We have what we have. It sucks. I'd love to sit here and be able to say that Boucher stood on his head and won us the game. He didn't. However, he didn't lose us the game like many are saying.
Sure, can't put the first or last goals on Waterboy, and really most of game 1 was just ****** team play.
What's most frustrating though is that lazy plays from our opponents turn into saves rather than goals. Its like our D has to play perfect, or we're ****ed. Its an unattainable formula for winning a cup.
Well supposedly he hurt his back....so let's see if all of the sudden he's fine and gets his nameplate and a stall again. Otherwise it could be Backlund. Then again it depends on how serious the dislocated finger his but doesn't bode well.

I agree with this entirely, however, I think for the most part Boucher played well tonight. This has been my basic argument from the beginning. You can have 5 #1 defenseman, but if you don't have a goaltender who can make the routine saves, its all moot.

I wonder how often Lav wishes this team had Cam Ward...
If it is confirmed, that'll be addressed by management. More than likely, if it was a pure dislocation, it was popped back into place.
I've dislocated a few fingers. They don't swell up until the next day and actually feel pretty much 100% for a couple of hours after they've been popped back into place. I'm not totally surprised that he kept playing today...but I'd be shocked if he played next game. It hurts like a ***** for a couple of weeks afterwards...
There will never ever be a day that I give up on the Flyers; this doesn't even come close to "The Year That Shall Not Be Named" or being down "3-0" with the rest of the hockey world counting us out.
With that being said, the boys dug themselves a huge hole and it's up to them to suck it up and steal two in Beantown.
I'm still seething they put Boosh back in, after the way Bob steped up to come in and deny Boston during that hectic end of the period
I can't stand the thought of getting swept, but I fear it's the road we are traveling down...
If they lose wed yeah...most likely...a win and they can claw back in and force 7. We shall see but lots of things going against us right now. The injury to Pronger just hurts the most given our defensive lapses.
