Q. "So who do you like? And what about Archarcharch?""

A. "Somebody said he's on the gate or something and that's not good I guess."

It must be posh to show up to the Kentucky Derby and sound like a stooge on national television

You're not supposed to show pictures of horses breaking down and jockeys getting run over like that on national television. NBC, more than anyone else, should know this.

Bucking the Borel trend over here. Going with Derby Kitten. Rooting for girl power with Rosie though too.

I'm glad Rosie clarified that she calls herself Rosie. Hopefully someone passes the word on to the idiot that called her Anna earlier.

I can never make a pick with huge fields. Any one of 12-14 of them can win it. I think I like Nehro the most with Dialed In, Pants On Fire, Santiva and Brilliant Speed getting a piece. Closers can come late, but we've seen horses like Pants On Fire and Comma to the Top last. I think I have the tacticians covered, especially Leparoux who has a horse that perfectly suits him.

I put it on Pants On Fire because I'd like to get the 20/1 I thought he would stick at.

Doesn't that always happen with horse racing?

I had 3-19-13 on a tri wager for a totally unpredictable Derby. Not bad but... nothing!

I don't know, synthetic runners almost always came up empty in the Derby in the past.

10 furlongs just a bit too long for Pants on Fire, but he can hang in 1 1/8mi races.

Dialed In looked miserable, just no fire.

You'll get huge prices when double-digit saddle towels dominates the money.

You'll make some with WPS wagers. At least my 2nd place horse was still 2nd.

I didn't like the race at all. I wagered on the three by default more than anything. I told a friend yesterday "the only horse that would shock me by winning is Watch Me Go (finished second to last)... and maybe Animal Kingdom but I don't know much about him."
