I think we'd all be happy with a Larsson pick. Some of us might not like a Huberdeau, Landeskog, Couturier, or Murphy pick, but every single one of us would love Larsson.

How can anyone not love the perfect mixture of Nicklas Lidstrom and Macauley Culkin...

If we do pick Larsson the "Home Alone" gifs will be epic.

Can someone explain how Larsson will be the number 4 overall? I don't understand how that would be even remotely possible.

Edmonton RNH
Colorado Landeskog

are not really picks that would be surprising or a case of either team making an off the board pick since both guys are in the "top 3"

Then comes Florida who has a riches of Defensemen prospects, who might take a stab with a Forward(which they desperately need). They probably will still take Larsson in the situation but if there was any team that might pass in the given situation it's them

There is also the chance that Huberdeau makes a case for himself in the playoffs to make the top 3 a top 4.

I took a quick glance at the article "In Lou we trust" and if we pick Couturier over Larsson... I'll murder someone. Are they giving us Couturier cause he has ok numbers at the dot?

I stopped reading when I saw that Nathan Beaulieu had the same offensive upside as Ryan Murphy

If we draft SC, it looks like we'll have to tell him that Kovy has dibs on the sweeping fist pump.

It's plausible that the teams in front of us like other players, and pass on Larsson. Unlikely, but still possible.

Ya, that guy doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. I doubt anybody's board looks like his.

Colorado is the tough one. I've seen a lot of mocks and articles speculate that they'll take Landeskog, but if you poke around their board, everyone over there seems sure they'll take Larsson. Interesting. I can't imagine Florida taking Larsson at 3 with Couturier and Huberdeau still on the board. If Larsson gets past COL I think the biggest danger would be Florida trading down to 5 and NYI taking Larsson at 3. Our best hope there is that Florida really wants Couturier/Huberdeau and is afraid that we will take him at 4.

Florida trading down is a bit of a worry. Maybe Ottawa will try to trade up with them if Landeskog gets past Colorado. But in that case, it would probably mean Colorado took Larsson. So it might not matter to us, we'd probably take one of the centres or Murphy.

If Colorado takes Landeskog, he's pretty much ours. Assuming Edmonton takes RNH of course.

I really hope we get Larsson, so all the rest of this discussion is moot. Nobody will be unhappy if we take Larsson, it'll just be a big gif party. But we'll have dissent and argument if we take just about anyone else.

He is right that defencemen have tended to fall in recent drafts. Hopefully that means we can get Larsson at #4.

This is why I don't think it is that ridiculous to think we can get Larsson. The biggest worry would be someone trading to Florida's spot to take him, but everyone is so close in the draft that I doubt a team would risk giving up assets for someone they aren't sure will be better in the long run.

I would need to change my pants at the the draft party if we draft Larsson.

I still think we get Couturier or Landeskog tho.

If we pick Larsson, I'll probably have a seizure from sheer joy.

If we pick one of Huberdeau, Couturier, and Murphy, I'll be ecstatic.

If we pick Landeskog I'll be very happy.

If we pick Hamilton, I'll be positive.

If we pick Siemens, I'm going to beat someone to death.

so true

We're like halfway through the playoffs. So 5 more weeks of playoffs. That'll leave 2 weeks of nothing before the draft. Probably filled with o noez parise signing with the KHL!11 talk

What about Beaulieu? That's who we're taking.

Just so you know, the Edmonton GM was in Sweden to follow the SEL finals, just to watch Larsson. Word in Sweden is that EDM are pretty much focusing in on him.

makes sense...i mean, anyone who doesn't think he'll go #1 or #2 is slightly delusional

At the same time, their head scout raved about RNH, saying he has "Gretzky-like hockey sense and vision". That's high praise for someone they're supposedly not planning to take.

I'm not sure how much to take from this. Being that Sweden is across the Atlantic, I'm sure they're GM is spending a decent amount of time there just because it's not an easy trip. With RNH being more local, and the yin to Taylor Hall's yang, I feel that Edmonton has spent enough time drooling over RNH and won't be taking Larsson. Now, if Larsson straight dominates the finals, then who knows, but otherwise I expect RNH to be taken.
