Biron, a G prospect (Talbot), Grachev, Boyle, Girardi, Werek, Stepan and our 2011 #1 for Sharp, Kane and your 2011 #3 and #4.
the word ergo doesnt make your dumb post smart.

Pat Kane, Hammer to NYR

Ryan Callahan/Dubinsky, Chris Kreider, Dan Girardi, 11 1st and both 11 2nds to CHI.

Not that I even think this is a good trade for either team. Maybe better value?

Chicago doesn't even start listening until Staal, Dubinsky, and a 1st are involved.

Stepan + Boyle = ok for now
Grachev + Werek = upside for future
Girardi = profit
higher pick = profit

This is not a bad deal for either side, including Chicago...

DEVSFAN...

That wouldn't be partisanship talking there, would it?
This is not a representation of all Rangers fans.

I can't believe in your delusional world, you think this is an overpayment for Kane and Sharp. You realize, those two guys, would instantly be the best players on our team, while we are giving them, at best a borderline 2nd/3rd line center?

In addition, you are massively overrating stepan. If he could be traded for kane atm, their is no way sather wouldn't have done it by now. Stepan will never be near kane's status, EVER.

I would love for Chicago to do this but they aren't rebuilding here.
What you said creates impression I said Stepan was close to both Sharp and Kane, which is even worse than posters suggesting I thought Stepan was equal to Sharp or Kane...

I did not say or imply either. What I actually said was:
"Stepan by himself is most of value needed on either Sharp or Kane...".

All that means is a 20 yr old rookie w/ 20 goals is a sizeable downpayment on what you have to pay for one of them. I stand by THAT comment.

I disagree that for both, the value of the total package I proposed is that far off.
Break it down.
Again.
Don't ignore the real value of all the components offered.

You may want another package, which is fine, but I don't consider this way to be too little offered, as suggested...

No, I'm not.
Kane is obviously much better,
But Stepan is a sizeable downpayment against a better player, be it Jordan Staal, Kane, etc.

How can you even compare Jordan Staal to Patrick Kane.

This is why you are acting without a clue.

I don't think he was comparing Staal and Kane.

Seems to me, that he thinks Stepan is a sizable down payment for either player, meaning their value is similar.

In Staal's case, this would probably be true, Stepan is a sizable down payment. In Kane's case, it's laughable.

I was not comparing J. Staal and Kane, only saying that both were better players.

It is not cause and effect that just because Stepan is a good down payment for either, IMO, that automatically for any two given players, here J. Staal and Kane, value for them is viewed as closely comparable.

Stepan would be a downpayment on Staal. He would be an add-on for Kane. Major difference.

For kane were talking about guys like Staal, Callahan, Dubinsky etc going the other way. J. Staal could probably be had for Stepan + pick + prospect.
