Yeah, he's not moving as well or with as much strength. I'd say something is clearly wrong with him. He's been a horse the previous three seasons.

I told myself that I would not take it this hard. I said it is just hockey, it is just a sport why do you care so much. The Bolts scored first and I said oh well whatever here we go again. Then we make it 3-2 and I get my hopes up. However, as usual they choke and I am back to being extremely pissed. Why the **** do we care guys? It is just a game we have no control over but yet somehow I can't not care.

BB is not a good coach. Nor is he horrible. Hes got good hockey knowledge. But poor communication, poor realtime analytical skills.

He made some good asjustments thus season. Turning this team into a defensive team during ref season was a very difficult thing. But it was him delaying those lessons til now that caused him to haw to adjust. And when push comes to shove, they revert. People will revert unless thy are trained and drilled. And that's what this team needs. Discipline, tactics, in game management. Acountability. Vet leadership retained. Gmgm retained. Sarge for any pick.

The last ten minutes of the 3rd BB probably just repeated Miracle Herb... "play your game". And they did. Instead of structure and discipline, they went complete pond hockey without positions or teamwork. They were only down one damn goal and he did NOTHING. He sat and watched, a millionaire passenger.

I don't buy it. If so, he's been "injured" for months. He's coasting. I don't care if they come out and say he's been playing with four broken ribs and an MCL tear. I won't believe it.

SkyKerstein: #Caps Backstrom had a big bag of ice on his right hand.

His thumb was broken in late Feb (left thumb...).

There's more chaos with this team than just Backstrom. Lack of chemistry, discipline, focus, etc. Plenty of team-wide fail.

He might be injured, but what is the most obvious difference between Nicky this year, and the previous 3? A huge ****ing contract. Wouldn't be the first time a promising young sports talent was spoiled by a huge contract and lots of money/security.

To quote another famous underacheving DC professional sports figure who fleeced his owner:

"My pockets are straight."

I think in all the chaos that has been the Caps', people have let slide that the Bolts have essentially been without two pivotal players and Caps killers for most of the series in Gagne and Kubina.

He's really avoiding a lot of contact. Glad the vs crew talked about his board battles for who needed it pointed out. That's the stuff injuries show.

Now that I think about it, will George fire Bruce?

After that 9 game skid earlier this season, he was on radio, 980 or 106.7, and he pretty much said "it would've taken WAYYYY more than 9 losses in a row for me to fire Bruce."

No, but benching a certain "one center" who has been very ineffective might go a long way in sending a message to the rest of the team. I'd rather see that tried then to take a goalie that has played his guts out this entire playoffs and replace him with another goalie that would probably get hurt during the Game #4 warm up.

First thing I thought of reading the gtd was "the reality is if they knew better they'd be in the game"

I wonder if we win tomorrow and if half of verizon is empty, how many fans will Ted choke?

I just hope Neuvy doesn't get the hook for next game. Take a look at the last 7 or so minutes. How many times did he keep the Caps in it.

Those 24 seconds are going to haunt me for awhile.

For some reason, all the flaws of this team become apparent in the playoffs. 3rd year where we play well in the reg.season and stink in the playoffs. 2nd year where Caps go in as a favourite to win the east and can't get it together.

They need a new leader on the ice I think.

George sure looks chic in those scarves. Other than that, his ability as a GM should be right under Leonsis crosshairs if he's a competent owner. Which considering all of petty behavior and arrogance exhibited since the Caps starting getting face-time, I'm not so sure he is.

He's still the guy who signed Jagr, attacked a fan and engages in sparring matches with Dan Steinberg.

The sad thing is Neuvy probably will get benched for Game #4 in the name of providing a "spark". All the while someone worthy of benching (#19) will be on the top line tomorrow and provide nothing.

Up until the Dallas 2-1 loss Backstrom was over a point game, about 1.2 to be exact. Did he sign his new contract at that point? No? Oh, there goes that theory.

I was just about to go to bed but wait a minute here! Backstrom has a broken thumb and he's taking critical faceoffs?! Seriously? Is BB on crack?

I fear Leonsis might not be the great owner we think he is. If Boudreau isn't fire after this season, I'm going to lose a ton of faith in him. He kept Flip Saunders and EG around after one of the worst seasons ever for the Wizards. And we all know damn well GMGM doesn't have a proven record for constructing a "playoff winner." His coach hires have been ****. He found lightning in a bottle with Boudreau and his ability to do one thing right (develop young talent.)
