Resigning Parise ?

There is a whole mess of internal stuff any team goes through before you give a player a truck load of money.

He could at least start to talk with Parise or show him the plans or something. It seems that Parise really begs for contract talks and I just hope that this won't turn into frustration or something. He's just too good.

There are still almost two months before July 1. I'm pretty confident Parise will be signed before then. Don't worry.

Even if they were in talks Parise and the agent wouldn't comment.

Stop worrying. 100% sure Lou has touched base.

Lou: " Does Zach want to return "
Agent: " Yes Lou "
Lou: " Okay I'll talk to you in June "

We dont even know if they are or arent talking.

Lou never lets out any rumors. We wont know anything until we get a press conference.

There will be an epic gif party once word leaks out that Parise has re-signed long term. We just have to be patient.

The first thing I do when we see confirmation that Parise signed is heading over to Dorholt's site and getting myself a Parise Sioux jersey, and I will proceed to wear it on the day of the home opener.

I believe we should trade Zach to his beloved Maple Leafs for Gunnarsson and Scrivens.

Uh, TSN, know something we don't?

so burying Rolston in the minors would be the only option for cap relief and that's a big commitment to bury more than $5-million, particularly for a player that can still be productive in a complementary role.

I thought we couldn't bury Rolston anyway, because his cap hit stays.

It was a goof. Still outside of that mistake, a solid take on our situation

It's pretty absurd to write an article detailing how every player fell off without making mention of MacLean's ineptitude and the team's resurgence under Lemaire.

Unless you want something to be viewed in a certain light.

one thing i do agree with in there is when they talked about volchenkovs icetime being a career low at just over 18 mins. this guy was brought in to be the top shutdown guy and has proven he can be that in the past. yet that clown colin white still saw more icetime, that needs to change. volchy should be 20+ mins on the top pairing imo. i think the perfect partner for him would be salvador. volchy plays at his best when he has a partner who plays well positionally so he can provide the physical presence and also someone who can adequately pass/move the puck. i think salvador fits that bill pretty nicely, b/c imo his passing is pretty decent for a player of his mold.

I dunno, how did we get away with stashing Mogilny in the minors on an over 35?

One year contract. I think. 35 and over only kicks in in the second year of any given contract.

But we signed Mogilny for a two year pact, I thought.

2005/08/16 Signed as an unrestricted free agent by the New Jersey Devils to a two-year contract.

Then I think it was LTIR + rehab stints.

35+ kicks in for the second year of a multiyear deal. Mogilny was waived and buried in the minors the first year of the deal. The next year he failed physical and was on LTIR the full season.

Whatever we did with Mogilny, it's not possible to do it with Rolston. I think we're stuck with him, because a salary dump trade isn't worth it at this point.
