Nashville/ Montreal

Im gessing this could use both team and be a fair trade !

Spacek + Kostitsyn + carle
Vs
Dumont + franson + Watson

The Kostitsyn will be together again , spacek would be a great help to the young defensive sqad in Nashville ... Only one year left on his contract ! Carle is still young 23 years old and he as showed that he is a good dman in the ahl !

Dumont had a terrible year and trozt doesnt like him much . Dumont need a real good change , franson as showed nice skills in the NHL , Watson is a good prospect

Spacek - dumont
Ak / carle - franson / Watson

I see absolutey no reason for Nashville to even consider this proposal.

Dumont > Spacek (considering their respective roles and cap hit)
Franson >>>>> Carle (not even in the same ball park)
and I'd rather have Austin Watson potential, which aligns quite well to the Nashville system, than have anything to do with Kostitsyn. If I'm Nashville, any discussions regarding Watson start with Leblanc.

Are you putting this forward as a positive or negative?

Spacek for Dumont? Habs could then trade Kostitsyn elsewhere for a pick. Keep Carle he is going to be a good one

Spacek and Dumont are salary dumps, Carle is nothing. So it's AK, Franson, and Watson with value.

Habs' aren't lacking PMD/PP elements on defense; I think Franson would have trouble convincing Martin that he's more than a glorified Picard. (Most HFBoarders, myself included, like Franson more than that, but I just don't trust Martin with that player).

AK is a top-6 NHL forward, with warts, but still a top-6 forward, and (sadly for the Habs) our biggest (cringe) and most physical (double cringe) top-6 forward to boot.

If the Habs were to part with AK (and I'm not against that at all), I think it would have to be for more than a dice roll on Dumont resurrecting his career. Watson is a nice prospect who I've watched a lot in the OHL, he had a bit of a stagnant season and is probably considered a bit hit or miss now because of that, but in the end, his prospect value is probably much greater to the team that drafted and watched him than it is to the Habs who aren't really looking to pry another team's prospects away.

I don't see this deal working out AT ALL for the Preds, but I also don't see it as being a fit that the Habs would automatically jump at either. You'd really have to think Franson could make more of an impact or have more reason to think Dumont would rebound than I do, anyway. At least it's worth considering from the Habs' POV.

I don't see this working for either side and I for one don't want to see Dumont in Montreal.

Austin Watson trumps all of it.

Carle is worthless. He was on waivers to begin the start of the season.

Spacek for Dumont. Is all that's really fair...

Easily no. Kostitsyn >> Dumont. Watson is a "nice prospect", but not one who is trending upwards or tips the balance on an NHL trade. The Habs NEED a top-6 forward. Trading one away for a "nice prospect" and another team's salary dump isn't going to happen.
