The Fire have signed another South American striker, with loads of talent and good size. Hopefully he gives us ANY sort of aerial threat.

Don't understand why we are stocking up on forwards. We don't have enough playing time for what we've got as is and our wingers are very good by MLS standards. Team badly needs one of these strikers to be a capable withdrawn facilitator, or we'll be playing 90 minutes of all out attack soccer.

Honestly wouldn't mind seeing that over our current 4-2-2-2 double defensive mid scheme.

Christian Nazarit. More than one news source has billed him as the "Colombian Eto'o".

EDIT: Here's a highlight reel.

Jamal Crawford is an idiot. He said if that yesterday's performance was the Bulls' best shot, his team was in good shape. Well, Rose had 8 turnovers and Boozer was sloppy and still injured, but he needs to man up. That wasn't nearly the best we could play. We were great on defense, but the offense could do better. Our bench, which usually is very good, didn't get as much production from guys like Korver from behind the arc and Taj down low.

Playing a team whose best three players are gunners. If the Hawks get hot and stay hot, they have a good chance. If not, our defense and bigs are too much for them.

To be honest, the Bulls could have said the exact same thing after game 1. I don't see the Hawks playing any better than they did in game 1. Crawford is an idiot though, glad he's not on the bulls any more.

Boozer has been a blackhole defensively and offensively

If Hawks target him they should win this series

Yes.

It doesn't help that we have a lack of help defense with Boozer on the floor, though.

if boozer isn't scoring they just need to get him out of the game. He's horrible defensively and settles for too many jumpshots. I'm not a Taj Gibson fan either. He tries to play outside his ability too often on offense. We should run a big lineup occasionally where thomas/asik are on the court with Noah.

Cant go big vs the Hawks lineup because it is more speedy and they will pick apart our big men's slow footspeed

yea, except boozer doesn't really play defense anyway and is apparently hobbled by that turf toe injury. If Horford and Smith are on the floor it wouldn't really be a problem. I wouldn't mind Taj Gibson except he tries to do way to much on offense and frequently fails to box out.

Not that I'm trying... but it's so hard not to just absolutely love Derrick Rose. Kid is phenomenal. Nothing short of an amazing story with him... proud to keep him here in Chicago.

I was thinking the same thing... it's going to annoy Sox fans in to not posting here

Oh a brighter note, I finally nailed a bet on the Kentucky Derby. This was a long time in the making after year after year of losing bets on this race. I had $100 to win on Animal Kingdom woot!!!

Now...can the Sox actually win a game tonight?

White Sox win

6-0 over Mariners

Now 11 games back , Twins 9.5 back

What a odd sight to see the White Sox and Twins struggling like this

The division standings going into Sunday:

AL Central:
1. CLE 22-10 .688 --
2. KC 18-15 .545 4.5
3. DET 16-18 .471 7
4. MIN 12-19 .387 9.5
5. CWS 12-22 .353 11

NL Central:
1. STL 19-15 .559 --
2. CIN 17-16 .515 1.5
3. PIT 16-16 .485 2.5
4. CHC 15-17 .469 3
5. MIL 14-19 .424 4.5
6. HOU 13-20 .394 5.5

As a Cubs fan, it's good to be in the NL Central, not the AL Central. If we were in the AL Central, we'd be 7 games out of 1st place, not 3.

The Fire botched two prime scoring chances in a scoreless draw with the Vancovuer Whitecaps.

Have to admit, really was looking for a W there. We have an underperforming team with lots of scoring power, but their team just isn't very good, it being their first year in the league and all.

Fire have nothing in midfield and pushed two strikers into midfield last game. Denis Hamlet would've been proud.

Hope this Nazereth fella can raise our season from the dead. We've got more options up front then ever, and absolutely stellar wing depth. Need our young defense to improve, and our midfield to be anything.

Bone looks like he might be a keeper. Vidiera plays a very similiar game to Pause, although he isn't as negative a midfielder.

If Nyarko is going to stay hurt - which he will be again - I'd go with this until we finally bring in a true AMC.

Chaves - Nazirith
Puerrari
Pappa Oduro
Pause/Vidiera

Sega Gibbs/Robinson/Cuesta/Sirobe/Mikulic Anibaba

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLAY SEAN JOHNSON

Oduro can run with the ball but his finish is definitely lacking. Pappa can cut inside more with the runs Puerrari makes opening up the midfield for him to try his eight long shots per game.

Our defense is full of meh options with none particularly scary. At one point I thought Robinson was going to be a very good RB, injuries killed his speed.
