They will all be traded to or signed by Toronto

Oreilly- 4 for 21m or traded (coin flip on this one)
Ladeskog 3 @ 14m
Statsny 5 @ 26m
Duchene 5 @ 30m
Mcginn Traded or 3 @ 7m (60/40 on this one)
Downie 4 @ 14m (if he plays 70+ games this season)
Barrie 3 @ 6m
Elliot 3 @ 4.5m
Varlamov 5 @ 25m or he goes to the KHL (80/20 on this)

4M, unless he turns into a 30 goal winger with Selke level defense next season.

most estimates are too low IMO.
Duchene is rumored to get 6M. I hope it will be over 6years +. Would be a great deal for us.
Landeskog at 2years x 3.5M sounds good. Afterwards we should know what his offensive upside exactly is. And according to how he pans out he should get his fair deal over 8 years. He is our captain afterall.
McGinn will get 2.5-3 M. Highly dependent on his performance this year though.
Downie unfortunately will get 3.5-4 M if he can stay healthy.
Barrie will get something close to 2.5M
Elliott will get 2m
Varly will either get 4.5- 5M or bolt to the KHL
Stastny will get 5.75-6.25M if he is willing to re-sign. Will get his 6.6M again in UFA with another team if he really does not want a paycut...

I don't see why not. As long as he does his job, I think Roy will be ok with him having the C.

In most cases, it's "the organization" naming the captain, not just the coach. I don't see any circumstance why Roy would ever even consider switching it.

Have you guys heard Sakic talk about Landeskog and his leadership ability? He'll be wearing the C for a very long time.

If he gets the next signing right I say we burn him at the stake.

IMO this year will be very telling of Varlamov's future with the franchise.

he's on make it or break it mode for sure

if he flops this year no nhl team will want him, but at least he always has the KHL thing going for him, which is nice

i've always been afrraid that he'll return to the KHL one day , may not be right now but it's something that scrare's me for the future. My fear is that he'll have a few good seasons in a row b4 the end of a contract , go into contract negociation , not able to reach a deal with the Avs and then accept a kings ransom in the KHL .

I'd rather have a problem with Varly playing well than with Varly playing poorly.

My opinion on varlamov,

He will go back to KHL after next season, If he fails to succeed in NHL. We should get those damn defensemen now.. One year later might be too late.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I wouldn't pay Stastny a penny over 5M and even at 5 I'm not sure I'd want him. With Duchene and MacKinnon, keeping him around would be a luxury unless he's moving to the wing. I'd rather have O'Reilly back long term, but I'm not sure the Avs wouldn't be better off dealing him for a defenseman and finding a cheaper defensive 3rd line center.

Varly isn't getting close to 5M unless he breaks out big time this year.

I would re-sign McGinn for 3 years at 8.5M. I'm not for trading him as it wouldn't bring in the defenseman we need, and he brings a nice physical and scoring element to the top 9.

Would love to re-sign Downie but unless he can stay healthy, I can't see ain't term deal.

Elliott will likely get a one year deal for cheap to prove himself. Barrie will get a little longer one, provided he breaks out like I expect him too.

I'm still not comprehending why Stastny would even want to come back taking a paycut and a 3C role. He is going to be UFA, I refuse to believe not one of the 29 other teams will offer him a better deal in terms of money and/or opportunity. I like Stastny and would love to see him stay but I think it is far from a safe assumption to think Stastny isn't going to explore better options and take them. I'm actually assuming he won't be back and will be pleasantly surprised if he is.
