Pretty much, that is because so far they are not good enough, especially when the game is on the line.

We MIGHT able to play like this and get away with Nashville, but against teams like San Jose, Boston then we will be hopeless.

Let's go with as much speed as possible in Game 5 and skate Nashville into the ground.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Raymond-Kesler-Higgins
Torres-Lappy-Hansen
Oreskovich-Hodgson-Tambellini

Rest Sammy

Bieksa-Hamhuis
Edler-Ehrhoff
Ballard-Rome

The loss of Smithson is a really big problem for the Preds.

We won't see Tambellini. At least not now.

Dumont has one of the longest playoff resumes of anyone on the Preds, but this will be his first post-season game. Preds fans say he is a shadow of his former self, but the playoffs have a way of bringing out the best in certain players.

The Canucks just need to keep up with the effort, the skating and the focus on both sides of the puck. Keep hustling and wear them down, and shoot from everywhere whether you see daylight or not.

Hopefully nucks win tomorrow. They need some rest with all the OT they've been playing. That's like an additional game

Just a reminder to everyone - discussing ignore lists and calling other users "trolls" are both infractable offenses. So...don't do it.

Except the thing that you are conveniently ignoring and is the most important part of the the argument against you, is that every series you start fresh. So using the "oh we won't be able to do this against San Jose". How do you know? Also, every series is different. So the fact that the Sedins aren't producing like crazy now doesn't necessarily mean they wont in the next series. Another thing you are conveniently ignoring.

Because its really simple logic, San Jose is a better team than Nashville, if the Sedins had trouble scoring against Nashville then what makes you think they can do so against San jose/Red Wings?

It's true that just because they are struggling in this series, kind of like Toews having a mediocre first round then proceed to have a great playoff overall. I guess its all comes to confidence at the player, i just dont have the confidence that they can do it. Prove me wrong, but so far i hated to admit that i am right. I want to look like an idiot and be wrong at least once.

So, if SJ ends their series on Sunday and *if* VAN ends theirs tomorrow when would the first game be of the next series with SJ? Looks like there are events at Rogers Arena on Thu and Fri. So back to back Tue/Wed?

If VAN wins on Monday in NSH would the series begin on Wed with the 2nd game on Sat?

I say after we beat Nashville, we forfeit the next series due to this "simple logic" of having no chance.

I can see Wednesday/Saturday.

HP Pavilion looks basically free for the rest of this month after Saturday.

San Jose and Boston are very different teams.

San Jose would imo. be more of a Sedin-friendly series, because they like to open up the ice (a plus for the Sedins) and any series with them is end-to-end action. Boston on the other hand plays a strong checking game and relies on their big guns on the blue line to exploit screens by Horton, Lucic etc. or for those players to simply drive pucks to the net. Not Sedin-friendly at all. But both of those are just speculation at this point. Writing out Tampa after what they did to Washington is just stupid right now. Tampa has a lot more offensive weapons than Boston too, we'll have to see if the Boston D can handle them like they did with Phili.

Canucks just needa win, simple as that. Play like they have all series and they'll come out on top. Nashville's reeling, they're going to come out flying but one or two early goals is what we need, some tight D and physicality and we got this.

If both VAN and SJ win this weekend do you think it will still be Wed/Sat?

San Jose may be a better team overall, but they allowed 19 more goals against in the regular season than Nashville did. They don't have a stud defenseman like Weber or Suter, and play a more wide open style. I can easily see the Sedins scoring at a higher clip against San Jose than against Nashville.

And a Goalie that isn't as good.

SJ might be a better team but there Style is completely different than Nashville. I honestly thing we changed our game to suit this series. The games will be more Sedin Style against SJ or Detroit, If we finish off Nashville.

Because Suter/Weber is arguably the best defensive pairing in the league. Suter is an awesome defensively. It's no coincidence that the Canucks score on Suter's penalty.

And it's not like Duncan Keith was chopped liver either (plus there was Seabrook when he eventually returned).

The Sharks - while having an underrated D - don't have anybody of that calibre *defensively*. Boyle is a top *offensive* defenseman.

You might be my favourite person ever. Excellent GDT, simply remarkable. Even if we lose the game, I'm looking forward to reading the OP over and over to cheer me up. A win would be pretty sweet though. :p
