Your right dude.
But the 8 Games he Played, he was defenitly better than The First tender.
To become First goalie in such a high Level League with 17 Years is kinda hard i guess !
He also Played for the Duisburger Füchse As First golie in the third German League .
So now what does the lineup look like Racer? There have been several additions, subtractions. Things have to look different now, even before the main camp.

And that probably is a big accomplsihment, but Im not sure how after 8 games it can be decided that he is one of the best in any league.
If a goaltender had 8 starts and great numbers in the OHL, we would still reserve the right to see after the year.
According to the Import Draft info Martin is a [B]1992[B] birth anjd you have to assume he is the de facto [B]No 1[B] Maybe Fotinos is the backup and the rest are dispersed to the 4 wins LOL I do believe that Dan Cloutier the goalie coach really likes Fotinos so this idle speculation may not be far off.

Well, with the Colts indeed drafting Niederberger...here's how I see it shaking out!

I don't think you can risk backing up an import G who played 8 games of elite hockey, however good they may be, with a true rookie. jmo
I also would like to ponder alex Yuill. I ahve not heard either way if he will be singing or not, but for a first round pick he is getting evry little attention here in Barrie, whereas Ekblad is playing in Charity road hockey games and the like.
Anyone heard anything? Adding 2 D, makes me a bit nervous.

The starting goaltender is Clint Windsor in Barrie. He has shown more then anyone that he has the ability to start. Im surprised that they even took a goaltender, but well see how it all plays out.

I have yet to see Windsor really have that shutdown game that Elite goalies are capable of...he has good size and feet, but the 5 hole is very open. I am not as sure as you are that he has proven without a reasonable doubt that he is capable of starting at this level.
Getting a goalie is very surprising to me, maybe because I have more confidence in Chartrand than most...we will see..training camp will be a war.
What do you see in Clint's game that shows his ability to be a #1? you have a better eye than me I am sure for talent.

i expect chartrand to be dealt to london for eckblads brother before camp
Windsor will be first goalie and import will back up - 16 year old will go to opjhl and chartrand and malecki gone. I expect with a better defense that has been put in place the colts will be very competitive. You cant say they willl be the best but very close possibly the next year. Scoring will be more which was a problem last year in the close games. Positive for this year as we are like last years Niagara team close but need every break. If the goaltending is just good we we be ok but if it is better then we will be a possible final team in the east. I am an optimist and this group will be overachievers
unlike last year barrie colts they have added some impressive size who wont get pushed around with small and young players and it was hard to watch when your big goalie and smallest forward(Ezikiel) were the only ones doing anything physical
hows devlin? do you guys think he has any potential in the NHL?
im interested because he went to my HS before he left to be on the colts permanently.
I think he will be a 5th-7th round selection into the NHL in 2012....
He has great lateral mobility, a good first pass and an above average north-south skater...his one-time shot needs improving but he can snap it well and with the vision he has, I think he could play a more offensive roll, he had a really good, safe first season on a terrible team.

I don't know about an Eastern Conference final...but the league is very open this year...and this team will score goals...the question still remains: Can they play defense?
The defensive structure is not good enough in transition and through the neutral zone...Too many times was a simple break-out turned into a 2 on 1....they really need to tighten up the team defense aspect of their game....better coaching in this area, this season, is a must!

Should be much better this year. Everyone who has been brought in is an upgrade over the player they replaced, and everyone who will be staying will be a year older and that much more experienced. Lepkowski should be hitting his OHL prime, and Devlin has that important first year under his belt. When you hear Ekblad is 6'4, 200+ you think that his size is going to be the big deal but his skating and stickhandling impressed me (yes it was only one time so that is what it is) when I saw him and pairing him with a solid 92 in McNeill should be just fine to round out the top 4. I think Hartwick is an upgrade, and again Buonomo should be better.
At forward, Sheifele and Behenna are responsible defensively, and both are a year older. They'll probably be the top two on the PK this year, followed by Smoskowitz and ?. It's not Burmistrov / Hutchings, but that should be fine.
I thought Windsor showed some good flashes last year and he should be better this season. I don't know what the heck they plan on doing with all these goalies. It occurred to me that maybe someone had their mind on the import pick but was worried he wouldn't be around later and asked the Colts to take him for a future trade. I liked Chartrand but it appears as though the organization has soured on him and I assumed the drafting of Fotinos meant he was going to spend some time as the backup. One things is for sure, there's no way they carry 5 goalies. I thought 3 was too many last year...
Surely the Colts want Mathias to compete for - and win - the starting job. Why else would they draft a 1992 born import who is not likely to play his overage year? The Darren Eckblad report only confuses the goaltending issue even further!
