Actually, during the regular season, Carle had more hits, blocked shots and takeaways than Kaberle (both at 82 games). Also Kaberle had 70 giveaways in 82 games, while Carle had 59. Just saying.

Tomas Kaberle is vastly superior to Matt Carle.

Just saying.

He will be a 33 y.o D with 8 40+ point season, 3 50+ point seasons, and 1 60+ point season on his resume. He is a REAL PPQB in this league to boot.

I know. But I know that he also has how many years over Carle? But still, I'd still love to try to get McQuaid. I mean, they currently have 5 signed d-men, 2 goalies, and 11 forwards. They need at least one d-man and one forward. Marchand will probably be signed so that fills up the forwards basically. We really do need a tough #5 for our team.

Agreed, just because he's had a rough playoffs doesn't make Carle better.

Anyone think that signing Brewer would be a good or bad idea?

Why would Brewer take what would likely have to be a $2 million pay cut? If we're getting a goalie, we're not getting a defenseman that's been logging big minutes.

I've liked Paille so far, especially on the PK. Anybody happen to know off the top of their heads when he hits some form of free agency, or whatever? I'm more concerned with this beer than with looking it up

anyone like the idea of signing rupp?
probably can sign for $1.2M.

The Flyers get a player that is 6'5" 225lb, physical and can play both wing and center. Will drop the gloves and chip in 10 goals.

This would allow them to move Shelley's contract.

Rinaldo - Rupp - Powe 4th line

Shelley isn't going anywhere.

Adam Hall I think would be an amazing idea. Hits, takes faceoffs, plays the PK and isn't a headcase like Konopka (as some people wanted). And I don't think he would cost much. How does this line look:

Betts-Hall-Powe. Energy line that hits and kills penalties.

How do you all feel about Paul Mara as a 6th d-man?

I'm down.

I'm down with Mike Rupp, too, but I don't think that would be feasible.

Seconded. I had Jones in a capgeek roster calculator. He was notable in the Edmonton games I caught, good nose for the puck and drives the net well. He might complement Richards/Versteeg.
