It's been a while since the two teams played. The two teams had a pair of close games even after that game where the Bruins blew them out. Coaching changes, player changes, etc...

I have no idea but said B's in six...I said Flyers in six and that worked out pretty well.

Bruins in 6.

Seguin proves to play like Gretzky circa 1984 in the playoffs

Pevs isn't as good as Bergeron, but he's extremely talented and his offense has been muted playing on Kelly's wing. Giving him 2nd line minutes with Marchand and Recchi along with PP time and he's going to have a big series IMO; at least the games he fills in for Bergy.

Moving Kelly up would be a huge mistake, especially since he's been playing so well in the role he's got now. Wouldn't want to screw that up. The question is who plays the off-wing though, Seguin or Ryder? Ryder's got more experience, but Seguin's going to be jumping into his first playoff game in the 3d round. I'd say Segs is the one that ends up on RW with Ryder moving over to the off-wing LW side.
Personally I'd rather they go with Marchand-Peverley-Ryder. Recchi w/o Bergeron will be even less of a factor and that group is the best you can do for a legit 2nd line offensively. If Ryder doesn't produce and Seguin shows some punch then I immediately switch Seguin and Ryder. Marchand-Peverley-Seguin would actually be scary fast.

TB is New Jersey south...Should be a couple ultra boring / frustrating type performances...We need Bergy to go head to head with Lecavalier...

Lou, the Bruins will do what good teams in all sports do and regroup and play with as much determination and focus as they can. I'm very confident they will be firmly entrenched in this series and get their 2 or 3 wins by hook or crook- and in the end will have 4.

The Bruins are not losing to the Lightning. No bleeping way.

As for Bergeron, say a hockey prayer to Ace Bailey for a successful and speedy recovery, and don't count him out.

I have to believe we can win this. Bergeron injury is a tough one to swallow but whatever, lets do this.
And i hope he's back at some point.

Anyone notice how similar these two team have been playing in the Playoffs?

Tampa GP 11 G 38 GA 24 SVCT .938 PIM 134 PIMA 118
Boston GP 11 G 37 GA 24 SVCT .937 PIM 134 PIMA 113

Tampa's Special Teams are blowing the Bruins out of the water. Both in Power Play's 26.7% and Tampa is killing 94.4% of their penalties.

The bruins are blowing every body out of the water on the 5 on 5.
Let's be disciplined and move on TO the SCF.

I keep going back and forth on who will win this series. On one hand we have the Tampa team who the Bruins usually don't have a problem with. If they can contain their big 3 guys, we should have the edge. On top of that, Horton regularly destroys Tampa like Krejci does Philly.

On the other hand, this is the playoffs. This is a completely different animal. Bergeron is out and Tampa plays a similarly frusterating style as Montreal. The Bruins might have trouble with the "dreaded" 1-3-1 and their speed.

This really could go either way. I'm scared.

Disagree

I dont see the B's having problems with the 1-3-1 as we demonstrate during the regular season.

The diference in the PO's wont be to ajust to a system we already proved we can adjust succesfully...

The problem will be to match Tampa intensity and effort.

TT said in an interview wen he was talking with St louis... St louis told him the key for Tampa was every one in the team was contributing.

That's what we need from every member on this team.
I believe in them.. Bruins in 5.

From the Herald article:

Quote:
The center and the coach originally were just communicating about life, until Julien opened the door for Savard to offer opinions about the Bruins’ struggling power play.
And this is how the door opens for coaching. If Savard finds himself unable to play again, this is an avanue I could see him persuing. PP coach.

Very good news. McQuaid will be needed and I rather see Kampfer in the lineup than the Sheriff.

Also, TB will face something they haven't up to this point:

A real goalie and the best shutdown Dmen in the league. That will negate their top players. And we have better depth.

Won't be easy by any means, it never is when you go this far, but the Bruins, even with Bergeron out, are the better team and should advance to their first SCF appearance since 1990!

Go B's!

Does a player need to dress in the playoffs to get his name on the Cup?

For sure. But I think the best Dmen in the league can still do the job. We also have vezina Thomas to the rescue in last line of defense...

We'll be fine.

But with Bergeron in, we would be more than fine.

Get well Bergy and get back soon!

I cant say that we have better forward depth than TB. In fact I think they have that all over us.
