Knowing how Killer deals I am sure he was making an opening for a defense man that he plans on bringing in. You watch I am sure there is a sweet deal in the works.
I would be surprised if he didn't trade away some of the veteran wingers aswell.

I would be surprised if he made any moves before the season starts. Killer's famous for being conservative on the trade front. He'll assess what he has in training camp, but unless he has a great hole to fill, he will be patient let the kids develop into their roles. That said, he does have some "fat" at the forward position, he probably will make a couple of minor moves but I wouldn't expect much of a return.
I am sure he will make at least one trade in the next 10 days. He won't need his Import pick this year (Cajkovsky and Mzarek), so he will be dealing that for sure.
I think it will all depend on what happens to Martindale. If he doesn't come back, I am sure he will be looking to add a top 6 forward.
I am glad Prince got drafted in the 2nd round by Ottawa, this kid has improved alot and I wouldn't doubt if he was going to give Toffoli a run for the scoring lead this year.
I bet that Prince excels even more then last year.

I agree. His confidence seems to keep increasing, and as he realizes how good he is, a 100 point season is certainly not out of the question.
i know david perklin and brett gustavsen personally, so i was just wondering what people think about them, skill level etc
also if anyone who has seen brett play, do you think he has a chance of making it (or getting drafted to) the nhl? or is he just too small
I have seen Brett play and he is smaller but very determined and does have good skills. I think he is suited to be a third liner this year and he should get between 10-15 goals.

I have seen both play but someone has already responded on Brett who is clearly a very hard worker and consistent in that aspect I might add whereas David is a big body that is skilled but will need to fill in to that height. Should be good for the future for sure.
Maine lands another recruit Published on: 21st August, 2011 by Nathan Fournier

The University of Maine Black Bears men’s ice hockey team continued to get talent from the north of the border as forward Brandon “BJ” Salerno gave his verbal commitment for either the 2013 or 2014 season.
“I chose Maine because I know the hockey program as well as the education program is top of the line,” said Salerno in an email to the Maine Hockey Journal Sunday afternoon. “The support the entire school gives the team at every game is electrifying.”
No shocker there. It was actively known that he was looking to the NCAA, which is why i cautioned fans when they pencilled him into the lineup.
I wasn't surprised either. I know he had been checking out schools, I thought he was going to play USHL over Jr. A but its closer to his backyard so I don't blame him.
The fact is there were several players from both Flyers and Marlies actively visiting schools down south and that news alone was an indication that at least half that amount would not go the OHL route and half probably would. Concensus was Salerno was joining his teammate at BGSU instead of Maine.

I think he can't play in the USHL as a 16 year old because of Hockey Canada rules I believe.
