Third liners are not often "elite", unless maybe you played with Edmonton in the mid eighties .....
I completely disagree with this. IMO, Dalton Smith is an ELITE 3rd line LW. So yes, there are ELITE 3rd liners. It's not a matter of elite in the league, it's elite in terms of other 3rd liners in the league, specifically those who are good at face-offs, defense, and checking. A Dalton smith like Center would be amazing.

Why would you not play an elite third line winger on the second line? Simply because he is not that good.
It would be far better to say lets grab a crappy second line player and put him on our third line.

You're not understanding me.
I'm referring to players that are best suited for the "traditional" 3rd line role. Think of someone like Mike Fisher. Great defensive player, checker, good faceoffs. Someone who fits the traditional 3rd line mold.
Well that is good news for him to be playing pro hockey, I wonder if the team will try to fill that overage spot?
I still think we need another top 6 forward to make a good run at the cup.
The team does look good but I look forward to Nov when they should all be back from injuries and suspensions.
With Martindale not returning, at least the 67s know what they're dealing with. Another center and maybe a puck-mover would be great additions, but with Zanetti as the only OA of significance, they can hopefully fill those holes with OAs. While Dubois works hard, he's a pretty easy player to cut if you can add an impact player.
Nice character win by the 67s last night. Strong game from Cody Ceci on the back end. Can someone explain the game misconduct to Van Stralen for a helmat infraction during his fight?
Congratulations to local hockey product Jacob Blair, who signed with the 67's this past weekend. Jacob is a goalie and who was drafted this past June in the 6th round and was signed to fill in the void that will be left by Mrazek while he tends net for the Czechs in the WJC over the holidays.
Can someone tell me what has happened to Shane Campbell-goalie?
Had a serious injury that required significant rehab. The exact details escape me now but I thought it was season ending and then heard just this past weekend that he is either back ion the ice or will be very soon.
I was at the game tonight. I really do not see the big deal about Ceci. Can someone fill me in? Just had a bad game? His skating is subpar and his shot selection was pretty bad. I am not buying into the hype.
