The Lewiston Maineiacs went to the Memorial Cup in 2007 and then spent the next two seasons in rebuild mode, grabbing the last playoff spot both years. This year they finished 8th in the league and made it all the way to the semi-finals. Next year they should be a top three team in the league and compete for a championship.
The PEI Rocket have been re-building since 2004 and look to be continuing their rebuild for the next couple of years. In fact it wouldn't surprise me to see the Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup before the Rocket are competitive
This term does not exist in the Gatineau Olympiques' dictionary.
Unfortunately... I would like to see one of these exciting "rebuilding year". Our hockey style is so booooring, I would like to see our team miss the playoffs one season, just one. More exciting than winning a Cup, eh?
