Dugin and Kostromitin - sent to Mechel (VHL)
Stefan Stepanov - > transfers to Ekatirenburg - it's a loss for Red Army but Marchenko, Ozhiganov and Sergeev have outplayed him so far and he's got no shot for the main team. Also - he's related to Fetisov - must be a lot of pressure on him in the organization.

Minsk not impressed with Stefanovich and Drozd. Stefanovich I think is going down to Gomel not official yet. Too bad, Drozd showed well in the playoffs for a short time.

Minsk went a little too crazy with the foreigners I think, They cut the 2 Canadian tryout guys, and now they're going to be stuck with 3 goalies. They intend to start the season with Haugen on the roster as the 3rd guy I assume, but I cant see him getting any games at all. He must be PO'd, the guy probably thought he had a legitimate shot to prove himself in the KHL, now who knows... Goes down with Oksala, another import.

Kruchinin and Korotkov on try out with Amur

Lazarev is on try out with kuznya, they should have taken Chernov and yashin too, they have no potential in Atlant.

Yury Alexandrov to SKA.

Glad to see him back. Not sure he was going to get shot with Bruins.

I am glad he's back too, b's weren't gonna give him a shot, preferring Kampfer and Bartkowski. Plus with Cohen, Warsofski, Button in the wing - I really don't think he would have gotten a chance this year.

Now the way how he's back - I don't get it - his rights (as well as Tikhonov's who's about to sign in Kazan') should belong to Severstal' - very disappointed with the KHL.

Ya, I agree. The KHL has to start honoring rights of players because this is not fair to teams like Severstal who raise and develop these players then lose them when they are still property of their club. SKA almost did this to Lokomotiv with Varlamov as well.

Saraev needs to go, while Medvedev & Fetisov need to chose only one office job, cause this is getting crazy.

Saraev's explanation is rubbish; in the NHL rights to the young players are retained the same way (e.g. Makarov left for SKA, Hawks let him go and retained his rights), and the KHL RFA/UFA system is built on the NHL one and looks practically the same. He thinks no one read it? Or can Orlov, Grigorenko, Khlopotov, Kamaev return to the team they want?

Oh, and btw, didn't Tikhonov just sign with Yotes? At least that question is solved (reminds me of Varly's situation).

+500 One, can't tailor the rights every time SKA needs it so. BTW, as far as Makarov goes - he left to NA being a Dynamo player, and someone is still to clear the fog for me here....

I still don't understand how both those guys signed in the KHL. Both had valid 2 year deals in the NHL. Unless there was some sort of out clause, I thought they just signed that new memorandum saying they wouldn't do this anymore.

It happens with non-KHLers too. Dick Axelsson left Detroit for the Elitserien while under contract. I think teams just respect the wishes of these prospects who know they're gonna be in the AHL for extended time and just wanna return home if they can't make it in the NHL currently.

NHL teams retain their rights indefinitely I'm pretty sure too, when a player under contract or qualified player goes overseas so it sort of lets clubs pawn some guys who aren't ready for the NHL yet off on clubs where they'd be better served played. Chicago won't have to worry about Makarov or Vishnevskiy leaving in UFA or keeping them happy in the minors but still has exclusive rights to bring them back should their development mandate it. Your classic win(NHL clubs)-win(KHL clubs)-win(players) scenario.

It can be done if all parties agree to it.....I read that Boston agreed to let Alexandrov go. And like Bring Back Scuderi said, sometimes its a win-win situation for everybody.
