according to sport-express, actually SKA St Petersburg is also in negotiations for Filatov. Not TOO surprising considering the new GM is Kasatonov who just recently left CSKA.

But it's just a rumor and an unlikely one at that.

Which Markov, Danny or Andrei? I highly doubt Andrei [Markov] would get Canadian citizenship on a contract year just to sign by SKA. But stranger things have happened.

Minsk with a little splash, after signing Obsut yesterday, have signed:
Pivko, Krajcek and Preising today

I wonder why they signed Pivko... I didn't see him play in KHL, but he probably didn't make much of impact in Neftekhimik, or am I wrong?

well Neftekhimik is a very defensive team and there's a very small time frame to judge.

Not bad signings, but its never good to wipe out practically your entire defense and get all new guys back there. Minsk is like SKA but on a lower scale, they just love signing new players all the time.

1 - year contracts are awesome for you know what...every year - new players - someone is getting rich on it.

Derlyuk signs with Florida Panthers a two way contract - very strange move on his part...Most likely he will get an NHL job though (currently panthers have - Kullikov, Ellerby, Garrison, and Weaver signed for the next year)

Dustin Boyd and Nigel Dawes are signed by Barys Astana. Anyone knows where they will be slotted into the lineup?

they are chasing a dream, nothing wrong in that, all in mid-twenties, have 2-3-4 seasons to spare to try to make it - then come back to the KHL with the NHL "experience" and make the dough they had missed out on earlier.

He's not going to resign with Omsk and well the main enticer for Jagr was CSKA.

This : from the link http://www.sports.ru/en/hockey/102161602.html

Quote:
I can tell you that I haven’t met any representatives of Atlant and even had no telephone conversations with them.

«I can only confirm that after Patrick Thoresen’s move to SKA we don’t have the option of joining the St. Petersburg club any more,» stated the agent as quoted by Sport-Express.

It is also unlikely that Jagr will renew his contract with Avangard Omsk, for whom he has been playing recently. According to the same source, salary expectations of the Czech exceed the Avangard’s offer by half. Therefore, the parties still fail to reach agreement and the probability of contract signing is little.
The fact that CSKA signed Thoresen excludes Jagr. Each KHL team has limit to how many foreign players (non-Russian) they can sign. With Thoresen (who is Norwegian) that limit has been reached.

It's looking more and more like Jagr will be going back to the NHL.

CSKA and SKA are two different teams.

I thought there was no foreign players limit at all in the KHL?

Nope, KHL has always had an import rule. The only place where import rules dont apply are to clubs Dinamo Riga, Minsk, Barys Astana and LEV Poprad, they can sign as many foreign players as they wish.
