He was getting top 6 ice time and kept regressing to the point where he started getting 4th line minutes, and then finally he played so poorly he got benched in favor of a dman, despite having one forward with a separated shoulder and another dman with a messed up wrist. Think about that for a second. In game 7 of the playoffs the coach decided a one armed rookie was better than Pouliot. Martin didn't become one of the winningest coaches in history by being a poor evaluator of talent. Face it. Pouliot sucks, and lacks the drive to succeed.

It's the biggest problem that can be fixed,though. We aren't getting a top 6 winger anytime soon.We don't have the assets to acquire one. Unless you want to trade PK.

I dont think there needs to even be a discussion. Pouliot is RFA.
He only needs to be qualified. I dont think they even need to discuss that too much (I could be wrong)
Typically the rfa renewals come in droves AFTER the playoffs are done...
Contracts are for guys who are UFA, or need to discuss a significant raise... Something Pouliot hasnt warranted this year.
Pouliot was probably told what to work out, and told to keep in touch at some point in the summer.

He will most likely start the year unless his rights are traded. Habs never let go of a RFA without trading them or seeing them through their entire RFA period. It is extremely rare that they let go of a RFA by not tending a qualifying offer, especially a player like Pouliot who has better stats than others.

Look Pouliot has his faults, but the only way he won't be in camp is if he's traded. There's no real need to negotiate with him beyond qualifying him right now. He's likely to accept his QO at this point anyway. For a young 30-point player that MIGHT be able to get hot and fit into the top 6 in case of injuries, $1M + is a reasonable price.
look, a young guy with that talent, and a fire lit under his a** could really help the team out. And Torres? I really doubt he leaves Vancouver
I never wanted SK booted out.He's the better and more versatile and gritty Kost IMO. BP hasn't done a thing since the first 20 games with us. i don't understand how a guy can just TOTALLY DISAPPEAR in the playoffs like he has the last two years.I don't want another Boyd trade,but I'd be all for replacing him with a tough bottom 6 player.But I'd rather dump Pyatt and Halpern first
