OT: How did Rich Peverley get the nickname Raptor Jesus?

I've always called him Rick Beverly because that's what are distorted PA announcer sounded like.

People who have defended Don Waddell often refer to him picking up Peverley on waivers. They site that and the Savard deal with Calgary as evidence of his hockey acumen. I remind them that even a broken clock is right twice a day.
