This will have that same issue with Batman. Beautiful environments passed over BC the game is played in xray mode the entire time

Another PAX East bump!

I just went to the panel that showed Hitman Absolution gameplay and it was awesome! It still has the same feel to it but they did change some things that I loved.

They took away with the maps system completely. Now you have an instinct ability. This ability allows you to see enemies through walls and see what paths they will take. Also if you enter a room and surprise a bunch of enemies, you will go into a slow motion mode where you can kind of pick your shots and then see a cinematic show of how all those shots come out. You only have so much instinct mode so it won't be like Batman with the detective mode (or whatever it's called.) There's also some other ways it works out as a defensive ability instead of an offensive ability like if you have instinct power, you'll be more likely to find something to interact with if you're in a goon's suit so you blend in better if seen.

The other thing I really liked is that in not only Hitman games, but all stealth games, being seen by one guy only alerts him until he tells others. I never understood how being seen by one person somehow alerts everybody to your location but now they're going to do it so if somebody sees you, only they know until they run into another person and tells them.

Also, the violent approach seems a lot more polished. In the older Hitman games, it felt like the stealth portion was more forced onto you (it is a stealth game after all), but in this one it looks like you could really play it either way you want and it'll feel like a great game.

I wasn't originally planning on getting this game but I think I will now.

Wish there was more hype for this. Easily my most anticipated game besides GTA 5.

Same, I've been waiting years for this game. I REALLY don't enjoy action games anymore (don't enjoy Uncharted, Batman, any heavily scripted, linear action game), but this game is one I grew up with as a teen and the variable options for taking marks out is too much fun. I cannot wait.

YES!! Release date all but confirmed as November 20! Previously to this morning there was STILL no set release date, so it was looking possible it could be delayed. So pumped, preordering this ASAP.

Here's the kicker with a preorder, you get a free mission to play as soon as May 15 where you have to take the target out in under 15 mins.

I don't know if I should pre-order this based on all the other disappointing pre-orders I've had in the past year or so but I am leaning towards yes. I only really played most of the 2nd but own all three on Steam. I'd like to play through them soon though.

Hitman Blood Money was one of those game I never got then played 2 years after it was first out and was amazed by how good it was and that few people ever talked about it.

Definitely will get this game.

That would be so sick if they did that IMO.
Had to repost this for the sake of want and nostalgia.

I HIGHLY suggest people interested in the game pre-order. This 15 minute demo/mini game mission is AMAZING. It's tons of funs, all kinds of easter eggs to find to unlock things for when the game comes out. I spent hours on it, doing it over and over for perfection because it's so damn fun. It's free, just gotta place a pre-order at EB.

I wonder if this mission will be available on the PSN store or whatnot after the game is out?

Probably. I was jonesing big time for a current gen fix of Hitman, and I know for a fact I will buy it day one, no matter what score it receives from metacritic. So I figured, hell, it's free and I'm getting it no matter what, why not?

Absolutely cannot wait for Tuesday. The ONLY thing that has me a little iffy is the fact that there are sooo many on screen prompts and button presses to pick things up or perform actions. I wish things weren't so obvious when you walked by them.

Obviously I haven't played it yet, and I doubt it will be much of a bother, but just from watching the videos, it takes a little out of the game for me if the screen is full of button prompts.

I believe there's an option to go hardcore and not have hints or prompts and that stuff.

So did anyone here buy the game today?

I personally will probably wait until December but I was just wondering what any of you think about the game now that it's out?

Pre-ordered on Steam but have not played it yet. Got sucked into Football manager again and want to finish Dishonoured, but I will likely load it up soon to take a look anyhow.

I played through the first mission. The engine feels really good, much better than Blood Money. That being said, it still has one of the big issues I hated with Blood Money, SO MANY DAMN CONTROLS!!! Why do we need a different button to pick up, disguise, drag, interact? In the first three, those were all under one button and it worked just fine. Not sure why they had to make it all different controls, it's just so damn confusing now.

Although one of the funniest moments I've seen in gaming was in the first mission. You're just outside a window on a ledge over a cliff and there's a guard on the phone by the window, "Really? Oh man, thanks doc! I can't believe I don't have prostate cancer. I'm so happy I could kiss you. Thank you so much! I have to get back to work though. Thanks again. *click* Man, nobody can piss on this day!" *Instantly grab him and throw him down the cliff.*
