Obviously, the hockey gods has punished us all for our sins. Our declaration of sweeps before game 3 ends. Our claims to a destiny with Vancouver. Seto having abandoned Twitter in the middle of the powerplay. People having shaved in spite of the playoff beard ordinance (I admit, this one was my sin when I trimmed my meager facial hair). All these sins and more have been committed
It is time for us lowly fans to come clean, to admit our sins, and to repent before Game 7 and reclaim ourselves from the brink of doom.
Oh thee hockey gods, bless us and the Sharks, give us your grace and allow thy Sharks to pass the 7th test and enter the forbidden kingdom of the Conference finals
For I must admit to the shame of committing nearly all of the above.
-Begining the battle with the Canuckleheads and explaining our clear advantage in depth
-Believing this team was different from years past
-Saying we own the Wings
-Going out for my graduation dinner (to a restaurant with no bar no less), rather than observing the the Sharks game in its entirety after the Sharks went up 1-0 in game 5.
-Shaving (my face)
Our Toews in Golfland,
hallowed be thy name,
Your influence come,
your will be done on the Sharks
in San Jose as it was in Game 7. Give
us this day our Clowe back,
and we also have forgiven Patty (for he does not know)
But lead us not into heart break,
but deliver us from Datsyuk and on to the WCF.
We need to sacrifice one of the mods to hockey gods.
They can have Nemesis
Anyway, I must come forward. 0-2 in the last two playoff games I've actually attended. Round one against LA, and game 1 against Chicago last year. I had a ticket to game 4 in Detroit... but couldn't attend. We lost. We've also lost each successive game..
Could it be possible, oh hockey gods, that I am being punished to endure losses since I "skipped" the loss? SAY IT AIN'T SO!!
