It will be very hard for Eberle to win this, there are still a couple Montreal plays left in the running. Canadiens fans take these things very seriously and will probably vote like crazy.

And that's why TSN's play of the Year is a complete joke.
Is it just me... but by looking at what he's up against does Eberle have absolutely no chance of losing the play of the year? How the hell is grabolsky's goal in there? Oh yeah... Toronto's population is huge along with Ontario's.

I don't know, Grabovski's goal was pretty nice there. I can see why it made it this far. However Camalleri's goal was nothing special.

I see it exactly the opposite. Grabo's roof job was nice, the dancing around the d-man was nothing special but the roof job was nice. But at the same time he had all the time in the world and I could have made an ate a sandwich with the time he had.
Cammy ont eh other hand had some pressure pull the puck in tight and had his stick in an awkward position and still somehow roofed it. I think that goal deserves more credit than Grabo's
66%-34% so far. Ebs is getting past these other videos about as easily as he got past Ian White.
That was Ian White laying on the ice? I always thought it was that dude who had an amazing training camp(led the league in points) and then proceeded to disappear.
here is what i chimed in with on tsn's fb page....(after voting for ebs of course)
thoughts?

I'm an Oilers fan and love to see Ebs getting so much love for this goal. I wonder though, are people who are not Oilers fans finding it easy to vote for him because of his WJC heroics and the fact that for a couple of years he was "Canada's kid"? Would people have been voting for this play if, say, Paajarvi was the one to score the exact same way in the same circumstance? Just curious

Really good question. I think his WJC heroics play a fairly significant part in why people like him so much. Also his "kid next door" demeanor. Ebs is probably one of my favorite Oilers, if not favorite at times, and I cannot put my finger on why. It's probably a number of things.

They both sucked tbh. Both are only still there because of the fans. Henrik's was much better
Well I voted for Ebs... looks like an all-Canada showdown in the finals... no matter which way it goes a player on a Canadian team will have the Play of the year. Honestly I think it was the play of the year considering it was a really nice play + the context of the goal (1st career goal, shorthanded, vs rival Flames, opening game).

The only reason it's an all Canadian play of the year is because there are way more Canadians who tune into TSN than Americans. This was more of a "Favorite Player of the Year" and even people who posted on facebook about it admitted they voted for their favorite player, not favorite play. What a bunch of bullsh*t.....
Well it is just a fun thing to vote on for a few seconds... it's not a Nobel Peace Prize or something so I don't think too much anger should be involved over the winners/losers. It will all be long forgotten soon after the draft and the new season gets closer... this is all just to fill in a little time when there is not much else to talk about.
Man some people are taking this a bit too seriously. It's just an online poll - it's not like they're putting up an exhibit in the HHOF devoted to the winner. Yikes.
