Well it is just a fun thing to vote on for a few seconds... it's not a Nobel Peace Prize or something so I don't think too much anger should be involved over the winners/losers. It will all be long forgotten soon after the draft and the new season gets closer... this is all just to fill in a little time when there is not much else to talk about.
Based on some of the Nobel Peace Prizes handed out, I'd say the voting is incredibly similar.
Man some people are taking this a bit too seriously. It's just an online poll - it's not like they're putting up an exhibit in the HHOF devoted to the winner. Yikes.

It was the TSN play of the year, this is just some fan voting tournament. I've seen the top 10 plays of the year on TSN, Eberle's goal was number one.
aside from Eberle's, this was a weak year for highlight reel goals and stuff, at least IMO. anytime guys like Malkin, Crosby and Datsyuk are injured for such stretches, the craziness goes down a couple notches.
I kinda thought Hab fans might flood the voting (like they did for the All Star Game), but I guess not. Or maybe Leaf fans are counterbalancing by voting for Ebs!
I may be slightly Oilers biased, but this definitely deserved play of the year. Maybe 2 other plays that could have made a case, but I think if you consider the fact that it was short-handed, that makes it pretty amazing.
Katz: See, I told you if we paid off 10 fans voting 200000 votes each guy, we would win this. Best part is, it only cost me some expired drugs from the back!
