Do not forget that there is now another party advising Peca, Tampa Bay Lightning, and it is quite possible that they feel the best way for him to develop into a pro player is via Major Junior Hockey. There are many factors that come into play on this situation and I am sure it is not an easy decision for him. Wherever he ends up I wish him the best.
So far hes been pretty quiet, but i know 3 players that were drafted this year, 2 in the 1st round and they have already been told they are playing in the OHL and not College. While the players arent really given an ultimatum they are certainly encouraged to follow what their pro team thinks is best for the team. You know that GIL would love to see him in Kingston.
What are the top teams in the CJHL? Have there been coaching changes at any? How do they look for the upcoming season? Still strong teams?
IMO, the order would be as follows.
Kings, All the usual obvious reasons. Players lined up to play there. Although losing alot of good players and might take SK until trade deadline to put things together.
Colts, a good nucleus coming back. Big "if" is whether Zion is there. They need a goalie, but they always seem to find a good one.
Canadians, this is a team that moved from 9th to 5th in only their second year in league. Appear to have nucleus back, and their staff will definately have new players coming in. Seem to be following the model of Pemb.
Braves, solid ownership, but players who in the past wanted to play there will have second thoughts because there is no "NHL" guy behind the bench. They have lost alot and I don't expect them to be the team they were in the past.
Raiders, I think this team could be as high as 2nd or 3rd if they get a few missing pieces to the puzzle. If they maintain status quo look at them in 5th.
Cumb, depending on what happens to a few key players. Are they staying or going. These coaches work hard and the players work ethic keeps them in middle of pack.
Hawks ownership is good, Staff I think is good. These guys will have alot of new faces in line up. They have to draw from across the border. No one from Ottawa area really wants to play there.
Kempt & Kan will not change without new ownership.
Bears have just lost too many players. Need 2 more years with this staff to get back into thick of things.
Glouc, too much of a turn over.
Ott, will have to make changes to make playoffs, maybe these coaches can do it.
I have said it before and I will say it again.... how brockville does this year really has most to do with which goalie they keep in the number one spot. They have a big choice to make....there are a few teams looking for a goalie and they have two good ones.....they could trade and get something good for one of them... but if they expect the team to perform with confidence, they better keep Betts.
Hawkins has this year to prove himself.... do not underestimate that point. I think the 2011-2012 braves will surprise and be a competitor for sure.....
From "around the rink". Could someone give brief translation. Patrick Roy might have done altright in Import Draft. A Russian, a Swede, and 2 from Ontario,

After the story of Alexandre Grenier, who made his place at the Ramparts in December by scoring goals, they will try to go find another Ontario player to do the same. According to received information, the Ontarian in question would be Mike McNamee. Last year, the 18 year old finished his year with Smiths Falls with 40 goals and 41 assists in 61 games. He will celebrate his birthday on October 23 so he will be a 19 year old player this season. McNamee has talent definitely. Matthew Peca, drafted to the NHL, who grew out of the same league was drafted in seventh round (201st on the whole) by Tampa Bay Lightning. We will see what this year has to bring.
Can you tell us why you think the rangers have a chance . they lost alot from last years team .
Remember how thin Gloucesters back end was last year? Well now imagine it without Curley and without Penning. Will they be able to keep a puck out of the net this year? The only way they won games last year was by outscoring the opponent and with all the firepower gone up front I just don't see how this team is going to consistently win hockey games.
The Rangers "went for it" last season knowing that they would have to re-build and re-load this season. The problem was they chased off all of their top young talent by running their 20 year olds and not thinking about the future....cupboard is officially empty...they will be bottom feeders this year
Younger White brother will be a good thing. Expect McMurty to be leader. If Leslie stays expect him to be stronger. APs from Metcalfe have a chance to strenghten team. Expect a big name to be moved. Goaltending may be still an issue. (IMO)

If you mean Patrick White, he can't play this year since he'll be Minor Midget.
Could be tough in Gloucester. Leslie was drafted 63'rd in the OHL to Guelph and Lloyd was 89th to Brampton. Will they be around this year ?
The 94 Draft was not overly strong either...
41 GLOUCESTER PATRICK, CODY G
81 GLOUCESTER MILLETT, CHAD F
93 GLOUCESTER BOIVIN, ALEXANDRE F
117 GLOUCESTER PELCHAT, RENE-DAVE LW
134 GLOUCESTER PASS
140 GLOUCESTER PASS
Looking at the 95 drafts, I am not sure many are ready to step into this league as 16 year olds...
Disipio, Daniel
Doelman, Adam
Gillis, Jordan
Snedden, Eric
ST GEORGES, MAXIME
Goalies:
Blair, Jacob
Rivers, Gunner
Maybe something great will come out of their prospects camp....
The reality is the teams that do well in Junior A are generaly full of quality 19 and 20 year olds with the the younger players not playing a lot of "big" miinutes. They may have a couple fo good 16 and 17 year olds but even players like Peca in Pembroke played limited minutes as a 16 year old during the Kings playoff and FPC run. Even if this group of 16 and 17 year olds are strong it would be a stretch to expect them to have a good season. It will take some good recruiting to fill the holes.

Lloyd signed with Brampton last year and will not be back. Based on the numbers, they will have to take a couple of 16 years olds this year...Jammes and Stewart and based on prospects camps. expect Disipio to make the team
2012 Clarkson recruit, Kevin has signed to play this upcoming season with the Brockville Braves. Makes you think of Taylor Doherty who played for Kingston Frontenacs last year. He is one massive blueliner.
He stands 6’4” and tops the scales at 220 lbs.
Some background info for you hungry fans :
Kevin Kirisits was born and raised in Tonawanda, NY . His parents are Barb and Bob Kirisits. Kevin played hi minor hockey in the Wheatfield Blades AAA program under the tutelage of Morris Titanic ( Sudbury in the O then Buffalo Sabres).
Kevin then played one year at Avon Old Farms alma mater to last year’s Stan Smrke). Although he only stayed a year, he played both football and hockey and they won the New England Prep Championship.
For his Senior Year Kevin returned to Buffalo and attended Nichols School ( Peter Ciavaglia 1987, NHL player ,Jeff Farkas 1996, NHL player – Christian Laettner 1988, basketball player -Scott Thomas 1989, NHL player – Ward Wettlaufer 1954, amateur golfer – Brooks Orpik 1998, NHL player – Chris Mueller 2004, NHL player)
Kevin’s stats from last year at Nichols read 40-8-12-20-52 . Veery good numbers for a big guy. The Nichols School Varsity team, with Kevin in the lineup, won the CISSA Championship. Nice way to end your high school career.
