Yep,

Hodgson is taking Henrik's spot with Daniel/Burrows, and Manny is running the drills with Glass/Tambellini I believe.

So he's basically a coach with the endurance/fitness to actually go through the drills with the players.

Awesome

I think there is an extremely tiny chance Manny could return before the end of these playoffs.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be doing skating drills.

Coaches have been saying it would take a complete miracle, but I just have this gut feeling he'll join the team eventually.

If Vancouver wins the Stanley Cup, and that's a BIG if, does Manny get his name on it even though he didn't play a game in the playoffs?

Yeah, because he played 41+ regular season games.

Would that be true even if he had been traded? Just curious.

I would assume not...you'd have to be part of the organization to win the Cup. (although that may not be true for management. Didn't Tallon get a Cup ring for the Blackhawks?)

He did. The real question is will Burke get a ring?

Pretty sure you don't get your name on the cup if you're not part of the winning team.

Cup rings are not the same as getting your name on the cup. A team can send out cup rings to whoever it feels deserve them, you have to still be part of the team to get your name on the cup IIRC.

Manny teaching Lappy.

I was really hoping that Manny would at least be able to work on face offs with the guys.

Odd night for the faceoffs. Henrik was outstanding at 72% but Lapierre was just 20% and Kesler was 42%.

Thornton owned Kesler in the dot (Left vs Right) but Henrik was 2 of 3 against Jumbo Joe. That could be something to watch for in the next game and might be part of the reason AV started playing Henrik more against Thornton.

That's awesome. Mad Maxim has been a god sent addition since the trade deadline. The best move that we made. I liked what Higgins has added as well.

Personally I don't expect him back before next season, though with recent progress I now have a comfortable faith that he will be back by next season.

Having said that, does anyone know if even demonstrating faceoffs is even possible without binocular vision? From the pic, it looks like he is actually taking practice faceoffs against Lappy - and I would think that takes pretty decent depth perception.

Nobody is dropping the puck. He's helping him with stick positioning and likely going over tendencies of the Sharks.

Depth perception can be learned even with vision from only one eye. Thats why people can still drive with vision in one eye.

Wouldn't taking NHL line rushes without any pads and bad vision be considered a suicide? His eye must be that much better.

Organizations award rings, name on the cup is seperate as far as I know.

But Malholtra certainly deserves to get his name on it.

Even if he didn't qualify, teams can request that a player's name be on the cup; I think we can all agree that the Canucks would have done so if the injury had happened in game 36 or some such thing.

In the above photo, he's at least wearing some kind of knee pads.
