One of the fun names in the NHL re-signs with Columbus for two years.

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=368493

Quote:
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenceman Grant Clitsome to a two-year contract, the club announced Friday.

The 26-year-old registered four goals and 15 assists in 31 games with the Blue Jackets in 2010-11.

Rumor has it Carl Gunnarsson re-signs with Toronto for 2 years, 1.3 cap hit per year. Could this give us an idea of what Butler will be making? Butler is probably a better player than Gunnarsson, but both have a had similar production in their careers so far.

I like McIntrye. Hell, I acquired him in the uber-mock on the Oilers board last year...

In the "where are these former Sabres now" department, Tim Kennedy re-ups with the Panthers. No word on terms yet, but believed to be 2-way deal.

Saw that tonight on espns crawl, without term. Massive $$, but can't say he's not worth it given the minutes and production. 2nd in NHL in defenseman scoring last year. At age 41. I watched potvin play his whole career, Robinson, borque, cOffey, others. Orr was a shell of his former self by the time I started watching. Lidstrom may be the best current fans will have ever seen.

Basically the return that was rumored before. Nash finally gets his first line center. Wonder, with them both snipers, if they'll mesh well.

Very surprising. I think Philly could've made it work, though they would've had perpetual cap problems as guys like JvR came up for his raise, and when Giroux needed his big raise in a couple years. And Philly really needs to get something into its system, and they can do that at #8.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Who sets the table? Or do they run them out on different lines to spread out their offense? We'll see. But it's clear Columbus has gone from wanting to develop from within to wanting to get their sooner.

I also wonder if this frees up one of their other centers.
