I'd imagine that since he apparently flew back from Calgary just yesterday, that he will probably play in one of the weekend games at Rogers Arena. I think we'll see some of the home team from Tuesday playing tonight (Pinizzotto, Nolan, Schroeder, et al)

Ah, cool. They're already roasting Vigneault on the radio about it, but I guess they have airwaves to fill

Preseason is full of bad discussions like this in all hockey crazed cities.

They aren't sending a very strong roster to Edmonton if I've heard correctly. Hodgson may get some better linemates playing on the weekend then he would if he was going to Edmonton.

They are idiots. If he is on his way back to Van, then there is a good chance he is actually playing with some of the regulars the next game.

Ya, I'd say Hodgson not playing indicates he'll get into one of the more veteran filled line-ups over the weekend. Hopefully we see him in a potential true second line formation with Sturm and Samuelsson or something along those lines. Tonight's apparently going to be another try-out / rookie squad so I think we'll see Schroeder, Jensen, and the rest of the young'ins.

This. Plus, it wouldn't exactly be fair to the players if one group was always playing the away games while one group got to stay at home the whole time.

The media is just looking for something to stir up for discussion. Controversy sells.

Oi. This will be fun. Although in fairness to the Oilers, I don't hold them in the same category as the Flames in this regard--the Flames were mostly experienced NHL veterans. 90% of the Oilers' organization are all kids, prospects or fresh draftees.

I just heard he was playing as per 1040. As I posted in another thread:

Maybe Gallagher can live with Coho's line mates for tonights game.

Nolan and that guy with these letters in his name: D-I-M-T-K-R-O-S.

Dimitrakos looked awful in Calgary. Though he is the best player Hodgson has ever played with under AV, so it's a step in the right direction. Surprised he gets to play with 2 veteran studs like this.

Have they not decided on the line-up or what; secrecy doesn't really seem necessary in a freaking pre-season game. I'm wondering if we'll see the Pinizzotto-Schroeder-Jensen line again.

Well, Nolan is certainly a step up in skill on Duco and Oreskovich as linemates. I can't remember the last time I saw Niko Dimitrakos in a game.

I'd personally love to see that line again. The more I see of the Schroeder/Jensen combo, the happier I'll be.

At the same time, I'd love to see all three of these guys get looks on possible regular season combos (Schroeder centering Sturm and Samuelsson, Jensen riding wing with Sturm/Samuelsson and Schroeder, etc)

If Canucks site is accurate, and let's face it they're not the most reliable, then...

Volpatti - Hodgson - Oreskovich
Duco - Ebbett - Mancari
??? - Schroeder - Pinizzotto
??? - ??? - ???

Parent - Baumgartner
Sauve - Corrado
Sulzer - ???

Lack

Ew.

Have fun Eddie Lack. Worst defense ever. At least they upgraded Hodgson's left-winger from Duco to Volpatti. Score.

Even Murph is trolling.

I can't believe that AV is MAKING Cody Hodgson play for the 2nd game in a row. How much more can the young man take from this organization.

No Jensen. Top line is Duco-Hodgson-Nolan. RT @thos_pratt Any word on rag-tag bunch in Edmonton? Schroeder-Jensen-Pinizzotto again?

Oh Murph. He strikes me as so affable and easy going when you're watching him talk, but he can get pretty damn sarcastic in the Twitterverse.
