It really looked like a cramp to me. You can see as the game went into overtime he was moving a lot better.
Botchford has stated that its a groin strain. But I'm hopeful he'll be ready to go in game 1. Like you said, as the game went along into OT he was skating better, hopefully indicating its nothing serious.
The latest Kesler report from Jason Botchford posted at the Vancouver province Live Chat:
kesler? I'll guess he's at 60%, kuzma guesses 70%

kesler is hurt, he has a groin strain which is a partial tear. It will limit him. He bent over in pain yesterday after taking a shot. the 60% is just a guess
by Jason Botchford at 12:26 PM
My guess is he is about 65%. I mean, that's a completely more reasonable estimation than Kuzma or Botchford. I think if he has not significant setbacks today after that long practice he could be as high as 72% for game 1.
Eric Francis has stated that Kesler was embellishing the injury he supposedly suffered in game 5.
Perhaps, wouldn't put it past Gillis and Co. to do something like that. Sneaky ********!
If it was a goal pull/strain, Botch is right in that all Groin strains are tears (the most severe are full tears and in that case, Kes wouldn't be able to walk without crutches). I will leave it to the game to see how it all plays out. This weeks long worth of speculation on injuries and whatnot is enough to make one batty.
I'm not a religious man but as they say, there's no atheists in fox holes. When we were down to SJ with 30 secs left somehow I turned into a praying man (of course) and, lo and behold, a goal. I guess it's time to start praying again. Get well, Hamhuis!
