They didn't want to fly in all those guys that had no chance of playing. They're calling him up now in case there's another injury... or perhaps they want more speed than Alberts can provide, but I doubt that.

There is absolutely no way he plays over Ballard because if that was the plan, Tanev would be on this trip and Ballard wouldn't.

I wonder if AV will slot Malhotra in on D before he plays Ballard?

Anyways, Ballard's a pro and I have no doubt he'll bring his A game tomorrow.

I got a separation and could barely move my arm after a week and could raise my arm above my shoulder after one month and it took 2-3 months before I could play full body contact hockey.

Wasn't Malhotra already taking face-offs?

I have separated my should before as well. I think this type of injury greatly varies depending on the degree of separation. I know that it can sometimes require surgery. I think you can play through this type of injury under certain circumstances. Realistically though, Erhoff is probably done for the year.

Botch tweeted this about Ehrhoff:

"All appendages were operating fine. Maybe indicates it's not serious."

At least we know that it wasn't serious enough to get his arm amputated.

that's actually really good news. If it was very serious, don't you think he would be in a sling? Maybe he sprained it.. jammed it.

I have had both a separated shoulder (Type I - two weeks)and a "stinger" (48 hours before I was pain free and had strength and range of motion back) from similar hits to the one Ehrhoff took.

Just a correction on my manny news. I messaged botchford a bit to clear it up.

THis is not the first practice Manny has been taking draws and when I asked him "did he win any?" he replied "lots"

Sad and happy at the same time. Happy that Manny is doing just fine. Sad that our guys can't outdraw a guy who's been out for more than a month.

Or you could look at it as manny's sight is still good enough for him to be 60 percent.

Not a big surprise. As I said earlier if it was something serious he would have left the bench as soon as play was stopped.

Or you could look at it as Manny's a freakin' Jedi and doesn't need no eyes to take a face-off! Eyes are for the weak! Go Manny!

Pretty much this. I had a Type 3 injury playing hockey a few years ago and the pain was brutal, especially on first impact.. there's no way he couldve sat on the bench fairly calm. I'm still not sure if he'll be back this series though, it might be a 1-2 week thing.

I think I would only be 90% shocked if AV's thinking was "McLellan gave misleading information as to what his lineup for the next game was going to be, so I'm going to play that game too."
