The Positive Thread 2011-2012

I realize that we are all freaking out here but some positives here:

- Gaborik looks great
- Erixon looks good and has some offensive skill. I think he takes the sixth spot once Sauer and Staal come back
- Richards looks good
- Lundqvist is still great

There's really nothing to be worried about. Our team is good enough to make the playoffs. The first three games also are not crucial. The leafs went 4-0 last year only to miss the playoffs after.

We'd get Yakupov, barring lottery ball shenanigans!

Can he play LW because he'd look splendid with Richards and Gaborik

The good news is we have 2 points and it's only October.

The bad news is we get to watch a board meltdown for a couple of hours.

I agree. Lot of improvement over the first two games. Top line looked deadly and Nabakov had to be great to keep them to one goal

Other lines looked pretty good but not hitting their stride yet. People are complaining but 5 on 5 the Rangers were able to establish a forecheck and get shots on goal regardless of what line they put out there.

Yes the penalties absolutely killed them tonight. If they can cut those out then they'll start winning a lot of these games.

October could end up being a really ****** month because of the schedule but the team looks like it has the stuff to get things on track and have a real good season after that

In fact, having a positive thread proves that we suck. If you're a good team, the whole ****in board is a positive thread.

Having negative threads three games in shows we overreact.

Step away from the ledge. We've had worse starts before. Our best D-man is out, one of our second pairing D-men is out and we're on a long road trip. We had a crap start in Europe, we were the better team tonight. Things will be fine once we start playing basketball on ice to please the refs.

Our 1st line looks promising and once the injuries are over and the Pack line gets going, it'll be interesting. Wouldn't hurt to have a PP worth the name though.

And how'd those turn out? I'm willing to venture we didn't win the Cup

But we don't have designated negative threads. Since we suck, the whole board is a negative thread. This is the point of my thesis.

I don't either. I don't choose negativity. The Rangers chose it for me.

Positive remarks? How about 6?

1. Gabby has looked great. And this is coming from a guy who really gave it to him last year. He has that jump in his step.

2. I still think people are not fully aware of what losing Staal/Sauer does to this team. Overall the defense has stepped up. Up to where we were with Staal/Sauer? No. But definitely up. McDonagh is getting better and better with each game.

3. For all that people blasted him, Woywitka was not THAT bad tonight. He looked like a serviceable 6/7 guy.

4. Anisimov looks much more engaged this year and is poised to break out.

5. Del Zotto is ripping the puck. His accuracy needs work but if teams have to at least play the shot on him his passing gets that much more deadly.

6. We have the best tender in the league, bar none.

Queue someone ripping this post to shreds...

I actually agree. The talent is there. So far the wins aren't. It may be time for a change behind the bench.

Lets' all wait and see what would be results like after the road trip. I am not too optimistic. I wonder what would happen on this board if they'll go 0-5 on the road? Are we still gonna say that it is only October?
