History and grandeur? The stadium is 3 years old.

Should be this, but I don't think they will be able to wear dark.

I thought I saw a Ranger jersey from the past with a big red "R" on it, that would be interesting. Or maybe the road jersey from the late 70s that reads "New York" on it. Although with the Rangers being the road team, they'll be wearing white, so that limits the options. I just hope it's not the pajama uniforms/Winnipeg jerseys from the mid 70s.

I guess they'll have to get creative.

Would love either this uni or the late 70's early 80's "New York" blue. Let the Flyers wear orange, it is enough of a contrast. Similar to how USC-UCLA now both wear their dark uniform for their game. Their is enough of a contrast that it won't be a problem.

Wonders how this will influence Richards and UFA signings?

He's gonna commit 4-7 years of his life to one team just for the chance to play in one Winter Classic?

I can't imagine it has any relevance whatsoever on his decision to sign.

The large "R" jersey you are referring to was worn by the New York Rovers, not the Rangers.

There's one Ranger stryle that hasn't been used as a throwback. It's from the late 1940's and it had the word Rangers arched over the number, not unlike the current Dallas jerseys. They wore the style for 2 years. Not terribly attractive.

I'm guesisng it's the late 1970s style again.

Anyone else more excited at the prospect of possible HBO coverage of the team rather than the actual game itself?

I'm somewhat 50/50. As much as I'd love to see the 24/7 series with Torts, Brooks, and Avery, I would love to see an outdoor game live. I'd only be more excited for the show if I know I'm not going to the game. But if I'm actually going to the game, I'd be more excited for the game than the show.

If they remake this, I'd like that. But replace the number on the front with something else. I don't know what could replace that, though, since it won't be our logo going there.

I won't be making the trip to Philly but I'd definitely be more excited for the game itself if it was being hosted up here.

I decided to change our '20's jersey into a white (I didn't update the pants):

OK. I knew I saw it. I knew about the arched "Rangers" jersey but since Dallas did it, and Vancouver sort of, I wouldn't use it.

Like the idea. I would swap the red and blue in the stripes. Not sure they would go pure-white. Think they would be more likely to go an off-white/cream. Similar to the outline color on the current 3rd jerseys. Just did that in Photoshop. Will post it later.

If they do allow two dark jerseys, something like this is the way to go in my opinion.

However, I'm more inclined to think that they'll be matching the flyers from whatever jersey's they choose, which gives us maybe 30+ years to pull from, so I imagine it'll be the diagonal New York jerseys our boys had in the 80s.

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed that series. Glued to the TV. They were so well done.

Yeah... I'd be excited to see the 24/7 show but there's no way that I wouldn't be there. I'll find a way to get a pair of tix to it if the Rangers are involved. Been waiting for that since the first one in Buffalo, which my friends have all said was amazing.

Yea, you do know there is a name associated with Yankee Stadium.

It's more than the stadium itself, it's the name behind the stadium that can light up a the event.

You know the rangers jerseys that were worn in the movie "the rocket" about maurice richard. When sean avery played the bad guy who got the s^$# beat out of him. Well they should wear those jerseys.
