Well, the world is going to end in 2012...

I guess we should start calling them Kuusilehto and Huvudsjö. Or maybe both in English Sprucegrove and Mainlake (perhaps headlake ).

This will be a classic final
Will be a lot of fun to watch. I think Sweden might take it, but I am crossing my fingers for Finland!

To be honest, I've said this before, Fasth feels alot like Gustavsson and the hype that surrounded him.. and he plays in the minors now...

Love games between Sweden and Finland and on Sunday I'm totaly going to hate you. But I think Finland will win mainly because their solid team play and tactics. Think Sweden have only an slight edge in overal individual talent. But think the Fins have more clever game plane. While Sweden makes bad misstakes all the time.

Im pretty suprised that most ppl here think that Fasth is better than Vehanen.

We all know that Finland has the best goalies in the world after Canada ( Quebec ). But still if Finland would have all their best goalies available only Kiprusoff, Rinne and maybe Bäckström would take Vehanens place as starting goalie.

Thats how much Jalonen and Nurminen trusts on Vehanen.

I'm not sure, well in the past and 10 years ago yeah, but sweden in recent years has produced Markstrom, Lehner, Enroth, Lindback (2 first ones born in the 90's, two latter ones in -88) i probably forgot someone, does finland have a backup goalie in the nhl that is younger than 23?

The Quebec school was mostly in the 80's and 90's with the revelation of the butterfly, not so much anymore as far as i know.

the hype maybe but he looks way more like Lundqvist, the way he moves and saves and works in goal. Imo.

and of course a way better rebound controll

Im going to grill 1000 swedish köttbullar and drink for a week if we win. Winning would be just like the end of the world, just opposite of it.

Best opponent we could wish for.

I'll expect a close match, honestly it's up to either team.

So the plan is to bet a significant amount of money on the Swedes and get loaded on the game day. Just standard emotion controll and avoidance of suicidal thoughts. Deep down I know I should be expecting the inevitable heartbreaking loss, but I can't stop believing just yet. ONE TIME?!

So who will have the bigger party if they win? Will there be the same type of celebration as the Czech Republic last year?

Finland will most likely make May 15th their national day. If Sweden wins, it will just be another medal.

Finland i bet.

1. We havent won in long time
2. In Finland, hockey is easiest the greatest sport
3. National games of hockey is allmost like religional happenings
4. Mertaranta makes it even greater than a religional happening.

Definitely Finland. Hockey is a bigger sport in Finland than it is in Sweden and last time we had something to celebrate was over fifteen years ago.
