Next year the Rangers will be playing with a purpose, not just to win, to win it for Boogaard.

I wish the Rangers could have won the SC this year no matter how unlikely it was, and lay a SC ring on Boogaard's grave.

R.I.P Boogaard, my prayers go out to his family, friends, and everyone who had the luck to know such a great guy. You'll be missed. Once a Ranger, always a Ranger

RIP Boogyman.....way too young

There are likely only 4 causes for a seemingly healthy young pro athlete:
1) Heart attack/failure
2) brain aneurysm
3) suicide.....but i just cant see it
4) drug overdose

Such terrible news. Too young, too strong and just coming into his own as a player, man and person. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family, friends and fans.

Not that Im saying it was a suicide, but its all but guaranteed he has CTE, and CTE is known to cause depression and poor decision making.

Remembering Boogaard...

This was one of the best hits I've ever had the priviledge of seeing first hand... was sitting just 4 rows behind the glass right where this happened!

This is crazy. Shocked is an understatement.

RIP Boogey man, your goal this season was always will be a memorable moment for me.(it already was before his untimely death) The cheering and laughter and all things good as I jumped out of the couch when you landed that bomb - I'll never forget.

I was really hoping he was going to claw his way back into the lineup.

Exactly, no matter what the answer is in the end this is a terrible thing to happen.

I am not used to concussion stuff but could a concussion cause someone to die in their sleep?

I'll always remember him as a huge, terrifying player and a person who was happy to help the kids at Rangers events. I remember those pictures of him at build a bear with the kids looking so happy.

In the first couple days, possibly a week or two, yes.

6 months later? Something else has to be at play.

RIP Boogey.

No matter what happened, you were way too young for this.

You won't be forgotten.
